What was that smell?
Shorts were as expected but they had to be washed twice in soapy hot water to get the smell of mold or chemicals out of the shorts.

Outstanding Bike Shorts for Touring
I purchased the Ether Shorts + Liner for long distance touring. They stood out above all other shorts for their ability to be easily washed and dried, the design of the pockets to allow secure carrying of important items like wallet and cell phone without them interfering with the cycling, comfort after riding very long distances, and appearance making them good for off bike activities along the way. Since I now own three pairs, I would say I'm very pleased with them and definitely would recommend them to others. (They also don't cost that much compared to bike shorts of much less quality.)
