research, exploring agency capacity and its impact upon 

families participating in the Puente Program — an antipoverty 

initiative aiming to eradicate extreme poverty in 

Chile. Forty four families from seven municipalities within 

the Metropolitan Region of Santiago participated in the 

study. Another activity related to the research topic was 

the active participation in several seminars designed 

to analyze and discuss poverty related issues — as 

experienced in Chile, Latin America and the Caribbean.
