Business Critical Services 

We have placed four specialist groups under one heading – NonStop, HP-UX, OpenVMS and now Linux. Three of these are legacy 

systems supported by HP and still very popular because they ‘do the job’ like no other systems can – practical, robust and reliable. 

As Linux grows in capability, matching that of the HP legacy systems the market will change. HP legacy systems may be considered 

mature (I prefer stable), which as a result has produced other challenges for education in terms of the number of participants attending 

courses and the course content itself. We have listened to our customer’s thoughts and concerns and have addressed these challenges 

as follows: 

1. We are using the cloud to deliver training (we call this RAIL) 

– A real instructor delivers the training over the internet 

– We still provide virtual labs on a individual basis – no sharing and no loss of experience 

– This enable us to deliver to smaller class sizes if required 

2. Centre’s of excellence have been created across EMEA for hands-on traditional classroom training 

– For example, all our NonStop courses are now run using RAIL or at our Amstelveen facilities 

– The cost being no more on average than having to travel from Edinburg to London to attend the course 

3. Build Your Own
