Omega Seamaster 300 14755-61

rare omega bracelet - straight lugs case - perfect dial

Description
The Seamaster diving watch is one of the most famous watches worldwide. Here you can see the original vintage Omega Seamaster 300 reference 14755-61. The Seamaster 300 continues to dictate the design of almost all Omega diving watches.

The reference 14755 offered here was the direct successor to the very first Seamaster 300 Ref. 2913. The reference 14755 was produced for approx. 3 years from 1960 to 1962 and is therefore one of the rarest Seamaster variants.

The present watch has a Dauphine hour hand and a minute hand with a small triangle (reverse broad arrow). The luminous material in the hour markers and hands consists of original radium, which we were able to detect with the Geiger counter. Overall, the black dial is in a beautiful overall condition without any spots, scratches etc.

The 39mm "straight-lugs" stainless steel case is excellently preserved and has only a few natural signs of wear. This watch features a rotatable bezel with thin black insert, which is extremely hard to find in perfect condition. A small part of the black insert at 6 o'clock is flaked off. Taking into account the age of this watch, such phenomena are absolutely normal making the watch authentic and honest.

On the screwed case back you can see the Omega-typical seahorse emblem, the model name "Seamaster" and words "Certified High Pressure Waterproof". All engravings are clearly legible and are an indication that the case has only been lightly polished in the past. The heart of this vintage watch is the Omega automatic caliber 552, which is fixed with 24 jewels. The movement is in perfect condition and does not need service.

Another highlight of this Seamaster is the original Omega stainless steel bracelet from 1961. It is equipped with the ref. 6 end links, that are very rare. The bracelet is preserved in great condition with very little stretch.

The Seamaster 300 is an important model for Omega. In 2014 Omega presented a new edition of the Seamaster 300. But the rarer and more sought-after watch is and remains the original vintage Seamaster from the 1960s. And here you have the chance to buy an excellently preserved specimen.
