I have never bought this brand before, but it's the same generic medication that is in Abreva.  I double checked to make sure the dosage and volume was the same to ensure the same concentration.  I have been pleasantly surprised.  It's slightly creamier than Abreva but seems equally effective.  I would buy again.

Great dupe for Abreva

They ingredients ate exactly the same as the Brand Name product %26 it is much cheaper. Prevents breakouts, if applied early enough %26 shortens length of breakout.

It works.

Apply at first tingle/itch and most times the sore never breaks skin!

Once the cold sore is scabbing or starting to heal, switch the Lysine ointment to keep the skin soft.

Also, take a lysine supplement for prevention or at first sign of a breakout to help your body fight it from the inside out.

My go-to for cold sores

Apply faithfully and follow the directions. Took a normal sore episode down 90%.

This WORKS

if Abreva works for you my friend, this is better.  It's the exact same formula as Abreva without the ridiculous price tag. That makes this product better than Abreva.

It's Abreva but hetter

I get cold sores frequently. One a month. I like the tube better than the pump of Abreva. The pump looks like you're getting more but after a few weeks it won't pump out, I don't know if in the pump it sticks to the sides or what. But I found the tube last so much longer because you get so much more out of it. I've used Abreva and this Walmart brand and the Walmart brand is just as good.

Works perfectly well. Don't waste your money on a named brand. The key is get this on as soon as you notice a fever blister. Good luck!

Works perfectly

I have followed the directions for 3 weeks,  5 applications per day and still have cold sore. I must now go to the doctor because I need to get the prescription antiviral medication.  Not Equate problem, just this OTC medication is not strong enough, as it worked several years ago on a cold sore, but not this time.

Is not working like it used to

The delivery was made by a gentleman who spoke no English. I could not ask questions and he had a difficult time telling me he needed acknowledgment the delivery had been made. THIS WAS NOT FAIR TO THE DELIVERY PERSON AND NOT FAIR TO ME.   I will not use Walmart for grocery delivery again. If a Spanish speaking person is sent it should be a bi-lingual person that the customer can communicate with. 
When I contacted Walmart the answer I got was that Walmart uses a 3rd party delivery service and there was nothing Walmart could do. 
So much for customer service.

Horrible

I paid $16 for this generic crap and it wasn't even included in my delivery order! I'm done with Walmart  delivery.. it's more trouble than it's worth. Save yourself the headache
