I bought this lens last month, and it has easily become my favorite piece of glass. What this lens is able to do in ultra low light is just unbelievable! Thanks Canon for such an amazing product!

Handles light beautifully!

This lens is truly a gem, very few products ( not just lenses but all product types IMH) ) offer the performance for Value this lens offers it's user.
I realize it is an older design and so on , but, it performs, flawlessly, every time.
I think one of the most important things for an artist to have is confidence, confidence in their abilities to capture their vision , and the equipment they use to to realize that vision. This lens is amazing Image quality is so close to the L glass I own that it makes it VERY hard to consider the faster 85 MM offerings ( although the new IS 85 1.4 seems incredible,it is more than 1200usd more of an investment ) 
I am a working portrait photographer that will occasionally ( very begrudgingly ) do weddings , this lens Is really a great event lens because it is a fast lens and will focus well in fairly low light you can create event portraits with it and I think that is killer, to be on the move and still get what feels like a studio shot is very cool.
I strongly believe that this should be the FIRST "real lens" a portrait photographer buys early on ,  The confidence you get from such sublime images can really get you excited to push your skills and truly explore

I am amazed how good the photos are with this new lens. The bōkeh is incredible. Superfast focus. Quiet. Very happy with my purchase. Cannot believe that this is considered refurbished. It looks brand new!

Great quality - Canon quality

I really like the subtle telephoto zoom, and the amazing bokeh is impressive.  Compared to a 50mm, I can definitely see why this lens is a preferred choice for portrait photography.  It really brings you a lot closer to your subject without physically having to move closer.  I'm excited!!!

I'm in love!

Great lens! Bought this one to use primarily for indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, wrestling and hockey.  Auto focus is rapid and right on.  I use it on my EOS-R.  Lense looks brand new. Can't beat the price! This could be my new indoor favorite for sports and portraits.

Great lens for what it's worth. Creates beautiful depth of field for portraits or if you're just wanting to draw attention to something specific. 
Good for portraits, weddings, headshots, event shooting.
Video with this is hit or miss. Would definitely recommend a stabilizer of some sort.

Good for a tight budget

I bought this lense to take my daughter some christmas photos and I loved it! The pictures look beautiful (I am a freelance photographer) and honestly haven't grabbed my camera in a while, well since I got this lense I just want to take pictures of everything! I have to get used to it tho, but overall ita a great lense, fast focus and great low light pictures!

Great Lens but it shipped to the wrong address (my fault) so the recipient returned it to Wal-Mart for me.  Still bought lens but cheaper from different online company

Great Lens

I have many older lenses  with no visible dust! I ordered this "Refurbished" lens, they must have been BLIND!!!!!!!!!!!!  I  have NEVER seen so much viable dust! 1 large piece right in the center of the lens!    I have always thoiut of Canon of top notch, but now.... wow so disipointed!
