4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the worst, they are only concerned about the football team. A great number of students are left to figure things out on their own. If you can help it go somewhere where the teachers actually care.Parent Review1y ago - D.C. Reeves Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the worst school I have ever seen. The teachers are very rude and disrespectful to the children. They allow other children to curse in the class. They talk bad about a child's parent in front of the students when parents send notes. The feedback is only negative if you get any at all. There is little to no way to know what they are learning in school. Homework assignments are scatrered. The children feel as if they can't even ask a simple questions without the staff being rude or getting angry. They add unessessary restrictions on dress code outside of parish dress code rules. The office staff in particular the short lady is beyond rude to the parents and students alike. The rules are extremely strict. And they still have horrible test scores. The environment is more like a military school rather than a public school. We came from Walker schools before which were EXCELLENT! My daughter makes good grades and never gets in trouble. So this is NOT from a butthurt parent with a misbehaved kid. This school is a joke and needs an overhaul of much of the staff. We are moving out of the parish after this year. Thank God. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with this school.Other Review8y ago - Southeastern La University Lab School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is getting ready to attend his third year at the Lab school and I have nothing but good experiences. I absolutely loved the 2nd grade teacher. Since the public schools are so poorly rated in this area and the private schools are to expensive I have found this to be a great alternative to public school and the tuition is affordable.Parent Review7y ago - Tucker Memorial Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went there as a child in the late 90's. Many people I know have had children go there recently, and it hasn't gotten any better. Bullying is not dealt with properly. The teachers and staff seem very conservative for the most part, which leads to a very uncaring approach to teaching. A lot of kids start falling to the wayside, and this is blamed on the students and their parents rather than the ones who are paid to teach these kids. I was on the honor roll until I started going to school here. I never had any discipline problems. I was a shy, quiet child, and that ended up being to my detriment. My grades went down, especially in Math, and it didn't stop until my parents took me out of school. I rediscovered my love of learning and reading. Ponchatoula schools in general are overrated. Most of them felt like a prison, which is a problem all over the country. Martha Vinyard was the worst.Other Review7y ago - Perrin Early Learning Center

"I have lived in the neighborhood since 2004. Neighbors are friendly. People walk their dogs, ride their bikes & jog/run & walk every day. Everyone is quite friendly. It is a quaint town. We have lots of festivals & community events. Ponchatoula has one of the best local grocery stores. We have several cafes, restaurants, coffee shops, antique stores, & an electric train store. There is a country market, housed in the original train depot, that has unique handmade crafts. There are sidewalks on the Main Street all the way downtown. We have a school building that houses artifacts of the history of the area. There is a locomotive in the center of town. It reminds us of how important the train helped the Strawberry farmers get the delicious produce to the rest of the countries. "
