QNAP TS-431P2 4-Bay NAS Review

A Look Inside »

Exterior

This NAS looks modern due to its white finish and silver-colored plastic piece on front, which hosts the status LEDs, power and copy buttons, and USB 3.0 port.

A sticker on top shows the HDD sequence, and another right beside it mentions the server's major features.

The cloud key, which can be used to quickly set up the server, is on a sticker on the side of the NAS.

Around the back are two Ethernet and two USB 3.0 ports, as well as the power input and a Kensigton lock.

On the bottom are four rubber feet and a sticker with the server's power specifications.

We removed the trays to take a look at them and shoot a photo of the SATA expansion card.

The plastic trays are nothing to write home about. We would highly prefer metal ones with pre-installed sound-dampening instead.

A scheme, courtesy of QNAP, describes what is going on at the face of the NAS.

Another QNAP scheme shows the rear of the NAS.
