High Voltage (HV) connectors
The U-connector and the L-joint connector are rail approved products designed for interconnection of high voltage electric equipment on locomotives, Electric multiple units (EMU’s) and high speed trains.
U-connector
The U-connector assembly is designed to be used as part of a configurable system and when installed as such the U-connector assembly forms part of a fully encapsulated earth-screened assembly. The benefits of such a system is that clearance and creepage requirements as per IEC 60077-1 are negated due to the encapsulated design allowing for a compact design solution.
The U-connector assembly consists of a moulded resin insulated U-Connector mounted to a mounting plate. It has two C2 type moulded resin separable connector bushings that provide a fully insulated termination permitting the connection and disconnection of HV cables.
L-joint connector
The L-shaped plug-in type connector is a rail approved product designed for interconnection of high voltage electric equipment on locomotives, EMU’s and high speed trains. It's a fully insulated termination for harsh environment applications, reducing influence of outside factors such as polluted air, high altitude and various weather conditions. It can be easily assembled and disassembled in the field and brings advantages during maintenance of the train.
