High-Voltage, High-Current Connector System for EV Drivetrains

The AMP+ HV 2100 series interconnection system is a compact, two-position family of class-5 high-voltage/high-current automotive electrical connectors for battery-powered, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Its dual, 21-millimeter PCON terminals are rated for up to 1000 VDC at up to 372 amps of current. The most common use for the HV 2100 series is for interconnecting powertrain components – for example, to transfer high-voltage DC current from the inlet to the battery, from the onboard charger to the battery, from the battery to the inverter, or from the inverter to the e-motor.

The HV 2100 series complies with the LV and USCAR specifications, which allow  it to utilize single-core wires typically used in North America and Asia, rather than the multicore wires often found in Europe. It provides excellent protection against vibration, extreme temperatures, dust and moisture penetration, as well as other environmental risks.

The HV 2100 series is available in shielded and unshielded configurations, depending upon your needs. If integrated noise reduction filters are used, then shielding is not necessary in the harness. Unshielded connectors and cables are smaller and more lightweight than their shielded counterparts. They’re also made with fewer raw materials, resulting in a connectivity solution that’s cost-efficient.
