  5. OB/ Gynecologic History Continued • Medications during pregnancy: • Prenatal Vitamin • Prenatal vitamins provide extra iron, calcium and folic acid to expecting mothers to prevent anemia, loss of bone density and tubular neural defects. The vitamins are taken once a day.
