C-Major Family Chord Progressions for Piano

Single letters without any suffixes represent major chords. These are modified by suffixes as
follows:
• Minor = ‘m’ • Major sevenths = ‘maj7’
• Dominant sevenths = ‘7’ • Suspended 4th = ‘sus4’
• Minor sevenths = ‘m7’ • Non-root bass note, e.g. ‘C/E’

While the left hand jumps around the bass notes (all roots unless otherwise marked), try to keep
the right hand in one area, using inversions to move as little as possible. Starting with different
inversions of the first chords will help to learn the various forms of all the chords.
