    Understanding & Choosing Open Value Subscription SKU’s

    Open Value Subscription license provides “rental rights to use software” – the end customer can buy out at the end of the
    agreement, renew or uninstall all products acquired under Open Value Subscription. These are Subscription licenses as apposed
    to Perpetual customer do not own Subscription Licenses.

    Option 1: CompanyWide Platform


    Open Value Subscription companywide requires a customer purchase a minimum of one product ‘companywide’ from within
    each of the 3 product families: Operating System, Office and Client Access License. When Licensing CompanyWide, all other
    products (outside of those listed in the CompanyWide Platform Product chart below), i.e. Server products, may be licensed in
    any quantity within an Open Value agreement and are referred to as ‘additional products’. CompanyWide Platform products are
    counted and ordered once a year on Anniversary.

    Company Wide Platform Rules


    • Can choose from the DesktopPro or Small Business Bundled SKU’s OR design a Platform from the options below
    • Can choose a MIXTURE of product family from OS category
    • Can choose a MIXTURE of product family from the Office category
    • Choose ONLY ONE product family from the CAL category
    • Note: Operating Systems and Office components must equal the number of qualified desktops and with therefore equal each
    other. While the number of the CAL Component can be the same or greater allowing for other devices such as Windows
    Smart Phones to access the network.

    Option 2: CompanyWide Non Platform


    Open Value Companywide is for organisations wishing to standardise software on each PC in the company. License one or two
    Platform Component products (for each qualifying desktop in the company). CompanyWide Platform products are counted and
    ordered once a year on Anniversary.

    Option 3: Non CompanyWide
    Non CompanyWide (Additional Products) can be added to an Open Value Subscription agreement for products like Visio or
    Server Products, but cannot be subscripted to by them selves. Non CompanyWide products are ordered in the month they are
    deployed.

    Up to Date SKU’s
    Open Value Subscription customers are entitled to a first-year Up to Date Discount (UTD) of 50% for the latest version and/or
    latest version minus 1 of CompanyWide or CompanyWide Platform offering software for past purchases of software from other
    licensing programs including OEM, FPP and Open Business. Up to Date SKU is used for the first year 1 payment only, year 2
    onwards revert to the Company Wide or Company Wide Platform SKU’s above.

    Buy Out SKU’s


    Open Value Subscription customers can choose to Buy Out their ALL their CompanyWide or CompanyWide Platform products
    counted in the last year of the agreement or any quantity of Non CompanyWide products ordered during the last year of the
    Agreement. Orders must be placed within 30 days prior to the Agreement expiry. Buy Out SKU’s are License (L), however
    customers who purchase the buy out SKU can continue to enjoy the SA benefits by purchasing SA through Open, or Open Value
    under a new agreement.
