TP Link LB130 Colour Bulb @ Kmart
Price: $20 RRP: $79 ($69 elsewhere)

-Google Assistant compatible
-Amazon Alexa compatible
-IFTTT compatible
-800 lumen/ comparable to 60w incandescent bulb
-E27 (Edison) fitting
-3yr warranty

LB100 in white (per tag) also $20 [$17 elsewhere Officeworks, Harvey's, Amazon]

Good offering for a colour bulb in this brightness. Saw $20 clearance tag at Kmart (Sunnybank QLD) [1 left in the cabinet], the tag was for the white bulb - but attached to colour. Scanned at $20 regardless of white/colour. Not sure if store-specific error. Looks to be removed from TP Link range on their website. After checking, IFTTT compatibility through the Kasa Smart app. Your lights could change depending on weather, doorbell, your favourite sports team scoring etc (with any trigger from an IFTTT applet).

    Great price.
    Will check first thing tomorrow.

    • I think you bought them all. I was late, only got the last two coloured ones. I guess you can still buy them elsewhere with price match.

      Thanks OP for posting this

  • +4

It looks to be Aus wide. I had bought the last 2 coloured ones in Wodonga last night. Though I had to return one of them today because it wouldn't display colours, so I then went and bought the last coloured one in Albury. Both stores still had a couple of white ones, last I saw.

    • +5

      thanks for posting xx

  • +2

Should be nationwide as Kmart are clearing out their TP-Link Range of Smart Plug and Globes and replacing them with Mirabella Genio

  • +5

The LB-100 is also $17 at Amazon now :)

    • +2

      Also $17 at officeworks

    • Harvey Norman. Everyone is following suit.

      • Wait… HN isn't still listing this at RRP?
        Has Gerry lost his marbles?

        • +1

Did he ever have this marbles?

  • hows these ones compare to the xiaomi's?

    • I'd also like to know. I like the Yeelights because they're so much brighter than the Philips Hue bulbs.

      • +1

i'm pretty sure the second-gen Yeelights are 800 lumens, and the first-gen 600 lumens (both for the colour bulbs)

i have two of the first-gen Yeelights, and one of the 2nd-gen.

i am tempted to get one of these TP-Link, and it would work nicely with Google Home, but problem is that if i want to have a party mood and have them all sync at the same time then they won't do it with TP-Link (different apps) :(

        • The latest update to the Google Home app allows you to control the colour of yeelights - I've tested my gen 1 light and worked fine. Perhaps you can group up the different brands of lights in google home and sync through there?

          • @nobby: Yeha I've been able to do that already for months on my JBL smart display. Sorry should have clarified that I mean the light effects in the Yeelight app, where e.g. switches it through rainbow colours all in one hit. You can't do that stuff in Google

  • What's the difference between this?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Hue-Dimmable-Compatible-As…

    I have philips hue bridge.

    • +1

      Color vs white.
      No bridge required.

These are really good and a steal at $20! Very customisable and good lighting quality.

  • +1

Just had a play with it. East set-up, quite responsive, a pretty nice balance from cool to warm whites (although a a small chunk missing at around 2700k). There is also a function within the app to monitor power consumption (I thought this was a bit niche - and a cool feature). Overall it's pretty impressive, particularly at this price point.

      Can you set scenes?

      • Scenes are very limited. Including:

        • Reading Scene
        • Dining Scene
        • Home Party Scene
        • Good Night Scene
        • Thanks mate for feedback will give it a miss then

        • +4

          No 'business time' scene? 😢

          • @Skinnerr: You can create scenes, all are static though. No dynamic builds, flashes, crossfade etc. Just colour and static intensity, customisable icons and names. Scene name carries across to Google Assistant.

          • +2

@Skinnerr: Business time scene is lights off

  • Sydney Broadway shopping centre, no stock. Already been replaced with mirabella which is
very unstable and always lost connection.

    • +1

Strange! I have both and always found the TP-Link to be unstable and have to have the account reinstalled, where as I've never had a problem with the Mirabella's.

  • +2

Stock was there in Blacktown Kmart at the back shelf of customer service desk if anyone is looking for it

  • are these xiaomi gateway compatible?

    • Looking for the similar info:

      1. Do they use the ZigBee protocol?

      2. Are the compatible with the new Aqara Gateway Hub (Apple HomeKit Compatible)

Note: I've not yet purchased the new Aqara hub, I've only got the Xiaomi gateway the rest of OZb's users have

  • +2

I called Broadmeadows, Airport West and Campbellfield VIC Kmarts unfortunately no stock available there.

    • +1

      Thanks, saved me a trip

  • +1

Which switches are you using with these? I have some xiaomis at home and I'm using their electronic power switches.
Would these work with Xiaomi switches as well? (Anyone tested?)

    Thanks!

Also FYI: Just called Chatswood Chase's Kmart and they're all out too :(

  • Does the app support any type of automation for the changing of colours ?
And does the app support any syncing with music for the lights ?

Never purchased TP-Link lights before. I have 3x yeelight bulbs and 4x lifx , 24x lifx downlights , 8x yeelight strips and 2x Phillips hue Lightstrips and they all support music syncing / flow .

    • How do you sync them up?

      • Lifx and Philips hue can be controlled via other apps to sync them all up and via the yeelight app I can sync all the yeelight bulbs and Lightstrips.

    • Wow how you’d managed to get 24x lifx downloghts?

      • Lifx , Bunnings, jbhifi ..

Only when on special, recently lifx direct had but 4 get 2 free :)

I also have 2 magic Lightstrips that are connected via rf , 133 functions , 5m long. I use the Broadlink hub to control these. They are around the front doors.
And I also have a wifi converted model with similar specs under my bed.
And also 2x zemismart RGBW downlights wifi models ( wish I got the ZigBee ones now)

        • Your house tech setup sounds rad!

    • Sounds like a nightmare to sync colour temperatures 😂

      • +1

        I use Samsung's smartthings hub v2.0.

I can setup syncing of the colours back to what I want very easily all within one click. Sort of like an internal routine of sorts.
And with the yeelights I use there routines for grouping the particular lights want on and also the same for turning them off. So I never have to worry about what colour they have been left on from there last use.

  • Anyone seen an online price? Local Officeworks won't match on the LB130 without it 'as photos could be fake' :/

    • They would match the Amazon price linked above…

      • Amazon price is for the lb100…

    • +1

I can send a photo of the receipt, but it's yesterdays date… They need it to be todays?

      • Can you please send me it? Hopefully you have the coloured one :)

        • Sure, but I've got no idea how to send it via ozbargain 😂

      • +3

If you use https://imgur.com/upload you should be able to share a link with us. Would love a photo :D

      • I would also love a photo if you can..

      • would love a photo as well

      • Pls post the receipt photo!

  • No bayonets?

    • LB130 is screw in type but comes with bayonet adapter. Makes it longer though.

      • Mine didn't have any sort of adapter, just E27 :/

        • Strange. Yours could be a grey import unit.

          • @trex: Since when did kmart start grey imports of brands? Just checked tp link website for package contents - no mention. On my 3 boxes - no mention. Did your LB130 come with the adapter?

            • @dantione: Mine was from Amazon AU and came with the adapter, confusing!

      • Can confirm, I got one of these a few days ago (argh…) and it came with a bayonet adapter

    • Just got mine from Kmart. No bayonet adapter included.

  • +2

Grr some other ozbargainer was at the service desk in front of me and cleared then out… about 25 or so, while I watched helplessly at 9:10am

Ah well I probably didn't need them anyway

    • 25! Geez

    • +4

so exactly what does Broden look like in person ?

  • Can't find any stock in Sydney kmarts :(

  • Did anyone see if they have B22 versions of these bulbs when in store?

    • With LB130 it’s all E27 screw in but it should have a B22 adapter included.

      • Thanks

      • Incorrect. Not included with either LB130 or LB100, check the box/their website for clarification.

        • -1

Packaging may vary depending on the region but according to this, and some youtube reviews I watched, it has bayonet adapter included.

Parkmore shopping centre VIC has 3 white once left and colour once sold out

    • Does the white tranition to Yellow hue ?

    • +1

I read that 'Pokemon shopping centre' for a brief second

    • Cool thanks I bought 2, so 1 more left.

  • Anyone have receipts for the colour version? I think only chance is to try price match with them as Kmart seems out of stock.

  • Thanks, OP. Popped into Gungahlin and picked up their last three colour ones.

    • I must have been in there an hour ago. Didn't grab any as I have bayonets around my house.

    • -1

I was there at 9am..Grab the 3 you mentioned and took it to the counter…the lady search for it and said she can't find it and said. Sorry Sold out. She must of being lying to me.

  • do they have wall switches on special too?

  • +2

Top Ryde still has a few in stock for coloured (and quite a number of white ones), I just bought 2!

    • +3

Not sure if this helps, but here's my receipt for anyone that wants to try price matching them elsewhere:
      Link for photo

    • Sold out at Top Ryde :(

  • +1

Thanks for this. I was able to pick up four coloured LB130's for the $20 each. No-one had the plugs of which I was after one.
Browns Plains had two left after my purchase.

    • Just made my way over there and it was sold out :'(

  • +1

Thank op, grabbed the last 3 from endeavours hill.

    • +1

Went to endeavour hills and worker said someone bought the last 3 just a few minutes before :(

      • haha same thing happened to me at parkmore. so i got the staff to reserve the last three for me at endeavour hills.

  • Any Kmart in WA still have stock?

    • +1

just got one from Kmart Morley 30 minutes ago, guy said it was the last one but there was still another card there. I would guess there might be more around in WA.

  • +1

Went to my local Kmark (broadway) and it was sold out. Luckily they had the Mirabella genio with a $20 sticker and asked the assistant about it. She matched it to $20 (normally $29).

  • I missed out on this, been looking around at various Kmart locations with no luck and can see that some people bought a bunch just so they can sell them at full price on eBay! Very unhappy :(

  • Hornsby Kmart has run out :( I missed them damn.

  • Do these work with Apple Home?

I currently have a LIFX smart light, is it ok to have different smart bulbs throughout the house or should I stick to one brand?

    • +1

As long as they are compatible with your system (eg apple home kit or Google Assistant), there's no need to stick with a brand - other than colours being slightly different. Can be alleviated by grouping the same brand within the same room. Anyway, these aren't Apple home kit.

      • Ahh I was hoping they would work with Apple home kit

        Thanks anyhow

  • None left in Kmart mirrabooka in WA. despite me giving the correct slip she got the wrong white one and said no colour ones left.

  • OfficeWorks refused to price match unfortunately.

    • Even upon showing the receipt?
