Hello.
00:01
So today we're gonna be answering the question.
00:03
Express the numbers 0.87 on 54,200,000 in scientific notation.
00:14
So what is scientific notation? scientific notation is a way for people to express really small numbers on really big numbers in a very easy, digestible, visually pleasing way.
00:28
So how do we do this? well, first, there's two parts to scientific notation.
00:34
The first part is writing the non zero numbers.
00:38
So in the first case, a n seven and, um as a number between one and 10.
00:46
So if we wrote 87 that would be way more than 10.
00:50
And if we wrote 100.87 that would be less than one.
00:54
The perfect answer would be 8.7.
00:58
So that's the first part of scientific notation.
01:01
The second part of scientific notation is to take that number between one and 10 8.7 and drag our decimal enough places and to count how many places we move it and then express it as a multiple of 10...
