Hello and happy Saturday. I hope it’s a great weekend for you. If you’re looking for baseball to whet your appetite for next week, we’re wrapping up our rewatch series tonight at 6 with a random game: The San Francisco Giants vs. the Philadelphia Phillies, from July 24, 1993.
As for this season, the Giants Summer Camp just grew, with three recently absent names appearing at Summer Camp.
According to MLB’s Maria Guardado (who published the report on the Giants official site), Billy Hamilton, Jarlin Garcia, and Luis Madero have all physically joined the team’s Summer Camp, after being named as part of the initial 60-player pool.
Madero, a non-roster invitee right-handed pitcher, showed up at the start of camp but tested positive for the coronavirus. He has now been cleared.
Hamilton, a non-roster invitee outfielder, and Garcia, a left-handed pitcher on the 40-man roster, had been on the team’s injury list for undisclosed reasons.

Did Barry Bonds hit a home run today?
Yes. A ton.
July 18, 1993: Against the New York Mets, Bonds hit a 2-run home run in the 1st inning off of Pete Schourek, scoring Will Clark. It gave the Giants a 2-0 lead, but they would lose 12-6. It was his 26th homer of the year.
July 18, 1994: Against the Philadelphia Phillies, Bonds hit a 2-run home run in the 2nd inning off of Shawn Boskie, scoring Darren Lewis. It gave the Giants a 6-0 lead, and they would win 7-5. It was his 28th homer of the year.
July 18, 1995: Against the Florida Marlins, Bonds hit a pair of home runs. A 2-run shot in the 8th inning off of Chris Hammond scored Robby Thompson and cut the Giants deficit to 7-4. A solo shot in the 9th inning off of Robb Nen (Robb Nen!!!) tied the game 7-7, but the Giants would lose 12-10 in 14 innings. They were his 18th and 19th homers of the year.
July 18, 2001: Against the Colorado Rockies, Bonds hit a pair of home runs off of Mike Hampton. A solo shot in the 4th inning gave the Giants a 1-0 lead, and a 2-run shot in the 5th inning scored Rich Aurilia and gave the Giants a 4-0 lead. They would win 10-0. They were his 41st and 42nd homers of the year.
July 18, 2004: Against the Colorado Rockies, Bonds hit a solo home run in the 9th inning off of Tim Harikkala. It gave the Giants a 9-6 lead, but they would lose 10-9. It was his 24th homer of the year.
