Sexual Assault Prevention and Response

Los Angeles Air Force Base is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our Space and Air Force families. Sexual violence is inconsistent with our core values and quality of life standards. The Los Angeles AFB Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Office serves as the single point of contact for integrating and coordinating sexual assault victim and survivors' care 24/7, 365 days a year. Upon receipt of a report of sexual assault, the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator will assign a Victim Advocate to help obtain necessary services and provide crisis intervention, referral and ongoing non-clinical support.

Help is just a phone call away: If you have been sexually assaulted, please call the Los Angeles Air Force Base 24/7 SARC Response Helpline at (310) 653-7272. If you're assaulted

If you have been assaulted:

-- Go to a safe location away from the attacker.

-- Call 911 if you are in an emergency situation or need immediate medical attention. Even if you doubt you have any visible physical injuries, you may be at risk for sexually transmitted infections or pregnant.

-- If you suspect you have been drugged, request that a urine sample be collected.

-- Preserve all evidence of the assault. Do not shower, bathe, change clothes, brush your teeth, eat or drink anything. Do not straighten up or clean up the crime scene.

-- Ask the health care provider to conduct a sexual assault forensic exam to preserve forensic evidence.

-- Write down, tape or record by any other means all the details you can recall about the assault and your assailant.

-- We encourage you to break the silence and report sexual assault. Contact the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, your Wingman for 24-hour confidential support: (310) 653-7272

-- Talk with a counselor who is trained to assist you with the emotional and physical impacts of sexual assault. Remember, you are not alone...let us help!
