What Is An Escape Room? Escape rooms may sound scary, but they are actually just immersive games where you solve puzzles to escape a room within a time limit. It's a live action game that involves moving around a room, not just moving pieces on a board. The goal is to escape, but don't worry, you're not in danger. Most escape rooms don't actually lock you in, and even if they do, there's a way to exit if needed. The time limit is there to stimulate your brain and ensure the escape room stays in business. Each escape room has a unique theme that determines the puzzles you'll encounter. Help is available throughout the game, with varying limits on how much assistance you can get. Well, what can I say about this topic? Officially, I have been in the #languageindustry for about 7 years. By "officially," I mean after finishing my bachelor's degree because before that, I was already doing small translations for peanuts (yes, it's true, sorry) on hiring platforms. After completing my studies, I decided to specialize in video game and SEO localization, which is pretty much what I have been doing all these years. However, more recently, I have been thinking about the article's topic a lot. I have been doing numerous searches on the topic and even considered making a degree in video game development (who knows). If you find yourself in the same boat, I recommend you take a look at this article written by the experienced Caio Tessarolo Uliana, who has written this masterpiece that brings us into a game development perspective. Don't expect to learn how to work with Unreal or how to design a level, sorry for that. However, you can expect to understand how the mechanisms work, which is crucial for building the base of your video game and, most importantly, for your community. Happy reading!
