There is agreement that supporting BIPOC-led organizations is critical. However, there is almost no agreement on what the term actually means.  Cathleen Clerkin, PhD, senior director of research at Candid, explores four key reasons why defining this term is hard. These include: 1. Determining who is considered part of leadership. 2. How definitions may shift based on your goals. 3. Taking into account self-identity of an organization. 4. Understanding who founded the organization or what the succession plan it may influence it.
