We often talk about the responsibilities of the Leader. But team members have responsibilities too. Leadership has to be earned and granted. It has to be given respect and responsibility. A well functioning team member should have these 4 responsibilities: 🗣️ Speak Up - No one's knows what is going on if you don't share and contribute. 👂 Listen Up - As you expect to be heard and paid attention to, you have to grant the same to others. 📈 Rise Up - You have to level up and challenge others to rise to a new level of performance. 👥 Team Up - You have to collaborate and work as part of the team. It’s true that people are the most important resources in any organisation but the Leaders must desist from making the persons working in the organisation as merely a means to an end . Rather it’s more important for the team leader to spare time out to to get to know everyone in the team which facilitate deeper understanding of the employees and help in recognising a hidden and unexplored potentials which may be used as an effective resources for the future trajectory of the organisation

What Makes a Great Team? 🤔 Solid leadership, communication, and access to good resources all help to foster productive cooperation, but it ultimately boils down to having individuals who understand each other and work well together. Leadership and the challenges; yes its strategic outlook, drawing on and engaging people as well as results focused. No not easy. Like many the opportunity to engage, support and rely on a team makes surmountable the challenge.

Are you working on the team or in the team? This is an excellent leadership cue that has come up a few times recently. For many, working in the team is their comfort zone. When things get tough, they regress to the actions that made them successful, checking off tasks and pulling together projects. But that isn't always what the team needs. Often, they are reliant on their leader to provide structure and vision. Sometimes, they need their leader to provide top cover and to back them up. In these instances, only the leader can work on the team. Today, are you working on the team or in the team?
