I bought this equipment when my air conditioning system burned out.I thought this trash would at least cool the small room where I installed it. But besides being just a very weak fan and no direction for the wind, it also makes a noise that leaves anyone with a headache and unable to sleep. Don't buy this rubbish or you will throw money in the trash! As I purchased a new air conditioning system in the next few days, just passing the return deadline. Now I have this piece of junk to donate.

Our main AC went out on the hottest day of the year. This unit saved my bacon. It does also take a lot of water out of the air so we collected it and watered plants with it. We had to turn the tv up a little louder also but it cools great.

easy to assemble, the drain hose is a design failure being too short and just friction fit, I replaced with a basic hose fitting for the unit and now no longer gets knocked off by dog or people in the middle of the night leaving a puddle on floor and have enough length to drain away from house. Need something to elevate the unit as the dehumidifier water doesn't like to run up hill. Cools room to low 80s FL jul-aug. works great for small bedroom. I Have 4 units with 1 in each bedroom and 2 in family room due to Carrier AC unit having electrical board failure and parts on back order for the last 2 months.

This supplemental A/C unit works great! It has a wide range of operating parameters; fan, air conditioner, and dehumidifier. Pair those with the multiple fan speed options and the ability to control it from anywhere once it is connected to your Wi-fi network, and you have the Smartphone app, this is a great unit. It is not noisy for its size either, it basically emits an almost white noise effect that does not really bother anyone in the room. Overall Toshiba did a great job with this product.

Work perfectly well to cool down my office space larger than the specified 350sq ft. A great buy just in time before the ongoing way above 99 degrees heatwave we are experiencing. I recommend this portable air conditioner to all.

We were in Utah, near a popular national forest, and found our RV's two AC units could not keep up with the temps and strong sun in our fifth wheel. I'm happy to report this model did a great job cooling down our 14 x 8 x 9 garage space using our exhaust vent in the garage. The important thing to note on portable AC units is to read the manual and follow the directions as indicated. If you don't, you may experience issues as they have very specific requirements for use modes.

Purchased when I lost my main HVAC unit so we wouldn’t suffer completely in the 102 F Texas heat wave. Set-up was quick with window insert and unit is delivering as promised. Air temperature coming out of the unit is 50F which is more than enough to make a difference in the 350 sq ft room size it’s designed to cool. Haven’t relocated to the bedroom but running with the fan on high and noise is ~ 60 dB about three ft from front of the unit.

I am totally satisfied with this A/C I always buy LG, at the time I needed it they were all out, so I tried the Toshiba and I’m very impressed with the quality of it, so I purchased two more, I have three and right now it’s 100 degrees outside, I have a very hard time breathing on regular days. but it’s nice and comfortable inside where I can breathe good now with the A/C ‘s all working in each room and kitchen. My wife's mother had purchased the next size smaller to cool her enclosed porch and it did a really nice job. My wife said we should get one for our son who lives in a 3rd floor frat house loft during the school as the old portable unit that was there just was not getting the job done. Picked this unit up on a Monday brought home for him to take back to school in August. On Thursday, the window AC in our house quit, so we just unboxed this and have used it to cool the downstairs. Have about double the recommended area, but it is doing a satisfactory job while we are getting our new 22,000 BTU unit delivered and installed. My only complaint is that setting up the wifi is a bit wonky, it took over 10 attempts to get it to connect.

My central air broke down right before a massive heatwave. I was lucky to get this in stock so I could use it the same day. It has been a lifesaver! Works like a charm! I even had to turn it off for a while because it got so cold. The only complaint is that it’s noisy, but I can live with that!

I purchased this unit because our Home Central air Unit(15 years Old) finally stopped working. Faced with a 3 week wait for the new unit to be installed I needed something to help cool the living room area of our home. This unit was easy to assemble, set up and get operational. The unit does help in keeping our Living room area cool, while I await the new Home A/C install. Don't expect it to cool your whole Kitchen and Dining room areas , but it does help keep the temperature from becoming to hot. The fact that it runs on a 15 amp outlet means I can use it during power outages with my generator. I am happy with the product.

Don’t keep my office cool.

Bought it to cool the dining and living room areas of my home (approx 400') and it does a really great job of accomplishing this. It has a built in thermostat that shuts off once your desired temperature is reached so it definitely saves energy during the day and overnight if left on vs an older model I have that doesn't offer this feature. I've had it for 2 weeks and so far it's worked perfectly. I tried a swamp cooler prior to buying this but it ended up just making the house humid in Colorado's dry climate making it feel warmer than it actually was.

This Toshiba portable ac is more powerful than the Whynter portable 13000btu ac I returned. Im glad I made an exchange and switched to Toshiba!

First couple of weeks the unit done well. Kept a steady 74 degree temp in a 200sqft upstairs room. It seemed to do well in June, as I never had to mess with it either. However, today it I have it set to 62 degrees and can't keep it 75 degress 4 foot in front of it. These AC units are so hit and miss. I was really hoping the reviews were true. I didn't expect this unit to last years – just one summer. Spending nearly $300 a month on this unit is not feasible and not worth your money. I'm not sure why these are even being sold if they don't work for longer than a summer. Pointless. Now being work-from-home, I need something in this upstairs room that can do what it's sold to do. I have never bought Toshiba, I guess I learned my lessons. Good play Toshiba. You got me.

Good other than it doesn't connect via wifi like advertised

The Toshiba portable Air Conditioner is working like a champ, and cools the square footage it recommends easily. It keeps our small flat comfortable during the hotter days of summer. It is intuitive to set-up, and the window exhaust port was easy to install. It comes with a fantastic and versatile window exhaust kit that has everything you need and works for vertical and horizontal window jams and patio sliding doors. The kit includes a bracket that ensures the window stays sealed while it operates. The only complaint I have is it is louder than I was expecting. I was hoping it would have better sound dampening and insulation for the refrigeration. I followed its suggestions to reduce noise, but didn't notice that if changed anything as it was level and all the filters and bobs were attached properly. I'm satisfied as most units will make noise, it's just that way. It may not be something a consumer would want directly in a bedroom or office space if air conditioner cooling sounds are not your thing.

Works perfectly, while the main AC is repaired: with the help of two extra fans, managed to have a more or less confortable temperature over a 3 times larger surface than specifications. Sure, I am overworking it a little bit...Today, max outside temperature 92F, with heat index about 100F. Try to survive several days...without main AC, or Toshiba!

This is a great AC unit if you're looking for portable and your place isnt too big/directly facing the sun. This unit easily keeps my 750 sq ft apartment cool during the hot days. Easy to use, remote is great, and the on/off cycle when ambient temp is correct, is great! Yes it's a bit loud, but not horrible.

Too loud is my main concern. Also, does not include any installation hardware for windows that are not plastic windows. Works well as an AC unit. Wish it were 50-70% quieter.

The unit cranks out cold air well, and I'm hoping the build quality lives up to the Toshiba name over time. However, there are a couple surprising design flaws that you wouldn't expect from such a well regarded brand. Most important is the lack of any screen or other covering of the external vent. Critters, leaves and anything else can fall right down the vent hose and into your home. It's easy to imagine some unfortunate creature climbing in and getting stuck. Or, in my area, for spiders or other creepy crawlies to make homes in the wide-open vent. See attached photos comparing the unprotected Toshiba vent (black) to the old one from Sharp that it replaced (white). The other shortcoming is how the vent hose comes out of the back of the unit horizontally. The Sharp that it replaced directed the exhaust air to the vent vertically, which allowed the unit to be pushed closer to the wall. This new Toshiba sends the exhaust out of the back horizontally so you must leave the unit a few feet from the wall to allow for the vent duct. One design advantage for the Toshiba, though, is the ability to set the controls on the unit itself. With my old Sharp unit, the thing was dead in the water whenever you misplaced the remote or needed to replace the remote's batteries. In terms of value, the Toshiba seems like a bit of a disappointment. It was $220 more expensive than the Sharp it replaced, which performed similarly for the past seven years -- and which had the superior design elements noted above. But if this new unit can last as long as the Sharp did and keep putting out nice, frigid air, it will still be a decent value overall.

It kept our main big rooms cool. Have had it about a month.

Biggest complaint is the remote is nearly useless.... more often than not the remote does not function at all. Even standing next ot the unti with in a couple feet there is no response. It seems to be sa universal sort of model as the the functions of the remote do not completely correspond with those on the unit itself. This may seem like a nitpick but at this price point, and when manufactured by Toshiba, the remote should work, shouldn't it? The unti provides decent cooling but seems underpowered for its BTU rating. It was easy to install and is attractive and easy to move with the nice casters.

We have a 1900 sq ft house and our ac went out and my mom got us the portable ac till I can fix or replace mine and we closed sores to bathrooms laundry room and kitchen and left doors open to bedrooms about 1000 sq ft with the portable ac and fans moving the air around keeps it 70 or below in the house so I can say it works great

Works great, no complaints . Would recommend it to anyone.

This is our second Toshiba portable air conditioner. The first we bought for our house in Maine, where in spite the the summers being uncomfortably hot, the houses are not generally air conditioned. The installation in that house was complicated by the fact that the window the vent was placed in was quite small, and the window insert had to be trimmed (a hacksaw worked well) to fit. Once in place, in performed very well and it made the hottest night comfortable enough to get a decent nights sleep. Our Florida house is a rather elongated affair, and the bedroom farthest from the air handler was not as cool as it might have been. And since our HOA has a 'no window air conditioner' rule, this device was the perfect compromise. There was a bit of work to install the unit, but it also is doing a swell job. We'd buy another if we had to.

This new unit replaces a 6 year old a.c. unit (12000 btu)I have had for 6 years. Yesterday set a new record for this date of 88 in Seattle. I am very pleased with the new Toshiba 14000 btu unit. The older unit used to temporarily dim the lights when the compressor would kick in. No problem with the new one hopefully lower power bill too. It was an easy set up and looks great in black. staying cool in the Condo.

This 14,000 BTU Toshiba air conditioner was very easy to install. It gives off plenty of cold air and gets the room cold quickly. The remote works great but the unit is pretty loud when running. It was a rough delivery with both of the windows panels broken in places but I was able to use them without that creating a problem. I didn't use the adhesive seals for them as I intend to move it into different rooms and not be permanent in one window. It is heavy but the wheels make it easy to move from room to room. I like that it can be used just for ventilation or as a humidifier for different times of the year. Be aware that you will periodically have to drain the accumulated condensation. This is a great alternative to a permanent window air conditioner!
