      A:  Hi Susan, thank you for your question. As it turns out, we do not recommend our Ceiling Paint for vertical surfaces like walls. For the best results, we recommend using a separate primer like our Multi-Surface Primer (No. 436) if that's what you meant by base coat.           Q:What type of paint would you recommend to paint over an old white “swirled” ceiling to fill in cracks? I called Leominster Ma Home Depot and they had no idea. We don’t want to replace the ceiling. Have put joint compound on them.

          A:  Hi Paint, thank you for your question. As it turns out, the Premium Plus Interior Ceiling Paint is not designed to bridge or fill in cracks. Instead, the surface should be repaired, sanded smooth, or skim-coated to achieve the desired surface profile before painting. Have a great day! - Randy
