Currently, one of the latest versions of the cable is a patch cable of category CAT 8.1. It features an improved double shielding, inner conductors made of all-pure copper, the highest data transmission frequency up to 2000 MHz and thus a data transmission rate of up to 40 Gbit (40000 Mbit/s).
Thanks to its flat shape, the cable is more secure against kinks that can cause damage and signal loss, and thanks to the foil shielding of each twisted pair, the cable can be laid in areas of signal interference, reducing the number of data losses.
One of the main advantages of flat cables is, of course, that they are particularly easy to run behind furniture and in hard-to-reach places.
