1/10**Mobb Deep, The Infamous (1994) **
As far as the gritty New York City-centric sound of the early '90s goes, none was grittier than that of Mobb Deep, whose militant-meets-street look not only included Timberland boots, but camo parkas, bucket hats, and bandanas. This shot pretty much proves that while anyone can look tough in a pair of 6 inch Timbs, actual badasses look really tough.

Biggie he referenced Timbs so frequently in his lyrics, it's hard to think of him shod in anything else. A few of our favorites:

Timbs are unisex, as Aaliyah clearly demonstrates. The late R&B star was known for her charisma, confidence, and her ability to wear anything and make it look cool. RIP.

**"Timbs all seasons for ass kickin' reasons" — need we say more? **They're not just for trecking through the snow in winter. If you can stand the heat, wear Timberlands all year 'round.

Back when Pac and Rosie were an item, they rolled up together to the '93 Soul Train Music Awards in style. We can't say we endorse Pac's baggy Canadian tux look (though if anyone can do it, it's him), but his fresh wheat Timbs look as modern as ever.

Easily one of the most stylish rappers of all time, Cam'Ron took the rugged boot and made it downright pretty in pink. The color has never looked so gangster.

Nothing says "Friends 4ever" like you and your boys all rocking Timbs at the same time. A crew that's ten members deep, buying multiple pairs of Timerblands for 20+ years. Damn, that's a whole lot of boots.

In 2001, Timbs went high-fashion thanks to footwear designer Manolo Blahnik, and girls lost their damn minds over them. J-Lo rocked 'em in her video for "Jenny From The Block," which prompted a young Kim Kardashian to borrow money from her dad to buy a grip of them and flip them on eBay.
10/10Kanye West (2013)
Yeezy does the high-fashion look better than almost anyone, but he looks just as comfortable in some wheat 6 inch boots, even if he's wearing them at New York Fashion Week. And as was the case in '90s, today, almost every hip-hop star in the game wears them, from Rihanna to Rocky to Young Thug. Timberland boots are going to be around forever.
