Well it didn't take me long to do this, though I must say that this is the smallest loco I've EVER drawn in O scale. Yep! Each one of the squares showns is a scale square foot!! Even my fairly small On30 Porter looks GIGANTIC compared to the "Kornet" Porter!!
So anyways, this wasn't drawn to exact dimentions in terms of the wheel base and location of the pistons. The look a little odd being in front of the smoke box the way they are. But that is because this proposed On18 (O scale models on N gauge track) locomotive uses a Bachmann N scale 0-4-0 Docksider chassis. Aside from that everything else I believe is spot on! Including the 10ft scale length from endbeam to endbeam.
My rendition here is slightly different from the magazine version. Mine has a typical Porter type diamond stack and I gave it a larger headlight. According to the drawings in the 'Gazette' the roof is simply flat, so I desided to give it more of a curved one typical on larger Porters of it's time.
Eventually I'll update this with a rear and front veiws/elevations. Hope you all like!! And yes, it does say "Karnes" on the side!!

What a "cute" little steamer!
Its very impressive on how much detail you can draw on these locomotives...
Very nice draw, well done.

Much Obliged Friend!!
I'm thinking of doing a color version to. Something that will compliment my BTMt. RR & Mining Co. not to mention the Front and Rear veiws.

The tank is for water! You didn't know that? XD
Almost ALL porters from around the TOC (Turn-Of-The-Century) had saddle shaped water tanks that rest atop the boiler.

Hmm.... Sorta resembles my Railway Series fan-character, Baron... He's also a porter, just a different kind and with a tender.
I think I recall seeing him in your gallery.
Isn't he standard gauge and based on the Northern Pacific RR #1?

No... He's narrow gauge... He's based off of some engine named Minnetoka or something...
Oooooooooooooooohhh...... Snap.... And I made him a narrow gauge character too... O.O
I'm sure he can still be narrow gauge. 3ft gauge would be the best option. Just base his chassis on the 8 Ton Porter model.

All you'd really be doing then is "shinking" him down to size!

Hey, not a prob! I'll do anything to help help out someone.
I'm glad you do! I've heard of On18 scale/gauge, just haven't seen much of it.
I planed on having an 18" gauge mine train to haul ore from the mines to the ore bins to be picked up by the 30" gauge main railroad.
Always had trouble thinking/finding a prototype loco to use as inspiration, aside from compressed air locos.

Ah ok Glad you found one. Can't wait to see the model when you do it. ^^
Well, that's going to be a long time comming unfortunately. The finance just aren't available right now. So I have to suffice with planning stages.
The advantage of that, of course, is a lot of time to plan things out!
