Feb. 13: Florida Tech men, women fall to St. Leo in basketball

Coach Billy Mims and Florida Tech lost a tough one to Saint Leo.

Florida Tech men lose a last-second heartbreaker. Down two with nine seconds to go on its home court, Florida Tech had a chance at tying or taking the lead late in the game against SSC rival Saint Leo on Wednesday night.

However, Valur Valsson's 3-point attempt bounced off the rim and Derek Murphy was unable to get the put-back attempt, and the Panthers fell to the Lions, 81-79, at the Clemente Center.

It was Tech's fifth straight loss. 

Three Panthers scored in double-figures: Murphy had 36 points and eight rebounds. Sesan Russell tied a season-high with 25 points, and Valsson added 12 points, seven assists and six rebounds.







The men's basketball team visits No. 8 Nova Southeastern on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Florida Tech women's basketball team loses to St. Leo.  Florida Tech women's basketball team lost its third straight game. falling to visiting  Saint Leo 58-52 in its annual Play4Kay game. 

 
Tereza Sedlakova led all scorers with 17 points while freshman November Morton had 16. 

Kailyn Ebb also put together a solid game as she shared the team lead in both rebounds (7) and assists (3).
 

 
The Panthers hit the road to Fort Lauderdale to take on Nova Southeastern on Saturday at 2 p.m.
