Midnight Run-An Original Vintage Home Video Movie Poster of Martin Brest's Hilarious Action Comedy with Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin, Yaphet Kotto, Dennis Farina, and Joe Pantoliano.
Lightening struck on this comic masterpiece as a brilliant screenplay, inspired direction, and fantastic performances all seem to blend perfectly. This unlikely mash-up of Buddy Movie, Crime Drama, and Mafia Comedy delivers unrelenting action and laughs creating a classic and timeless movie that will delight all present and future generations.
Jack Walsh (De Niro) is an ex-cop turned bounty hunter who works for bail bondsman Eddie Moscone played to perfection by a squirrelly Joey Pants. His next collar is a doozy named Jonathon Mardukas (Charles Grodin), He's a brilliant mafia accountant who stiffed the Mob for millions and then disappeared. Using every legal and illegal trick of his trade, Jack finds Mardukas and begins an epic cross-country trip to bring him back to Eddie Moscone and a massive "promised" payday. With the FBI, the Mob, and another pesky bounty hunter in hot pursuit, Walsh has his hands full, and that's all before he discovers Jonathon's hysteric phobia of planes.
Big Hollywood movies simply don't get any better than "Midnight Run". It has everything except a few Academy Awards and that's one of life's biggest and most enduring mysteries... From the whip-smart dialogue, jazz-like comic timing, death-defying stunts, and explosive action, this movie is a classic. If you haven't seen this film, grab some drinks, snack it up, and prepare to be captivated from beginning to end. There are no weak moments or poorly executed scenes, everything clicks into place like a hand-made Swiss watch...and the ending is pure joy.
