V-belts, also known as Z, A, B and C belts, are designated by their width. The letters (Z, A, B, C) define the width of the belt, while the accompanying number indicates the length and height of the belt in inches. For example, an A102 belt has a width of 13 mm and an inside length of 102 inches (or 12590 mm). This range of belts is characterized by their inside length, and sometimes by their original length. V-belts are used in a variety of applications requiring efficient, reliable power transmission. Conditions of use : ✔️ Belts must be correctly sized for the load and power they are required to carry. ✔️ Belts must be compatible with the temperature conditions to which they will be exposed. ✔️ Belts must be correctly tensioned and aligned to ensure optimum operation. ✔️ Belts must be selected according to their maximum operating speed to avoid problems of slipping, overheating or premature deterioration. ✔️ Special lubricants may be required to reduce friction between teeth and improve transmission efficiency.
