I have a core2duo pc from 20011, that runs basic tasks very well of course with ssd. (Ssd won't run at full speed due to sata 2.0).

Now this has around double performance, so I won't think it will run bad if we install ssd.

Anyhow bought one myself to replace that system, suggested 2 friends, both bought them, thanks op for the deal

Can anyone share Intel website link for this model BOXNUC7CJYSAMN or NUC7CJYSAMN.

I am not able to confirm that it has Celeron 4505 processor from any website other than Flipkart.

For 5K this was a super deal. 1TB SSD costs around this price and you are getting a full mini PC with dual 4K HDMI output.

For those who are complaining this is not powerful. Celeron may not be that powerful, but this is a newer generation processor. To put it into perspective, this processor score a 1727 in PassMark which is comparable to Intel Core i3-4000M or Intel Core i5-2557M or Intel Core i7-2637M.

So this will easily out run your 7+ year old PC/laptop. Also, you don't really need that much power unless you are gaming or doing some CPU intensive tasks. Just check CPU usage on your devices. Most of the time it is less than 10%.

That being said this device can be slow for few reasons. It is running Windows 11 which is pretty resource hungry and S mode is good for nothing. I would suggest switching to Windows 10 or Linux based on your usage.

Secondly, most of the time a computer is slow is not because of CPU. It is because of slow HDD or running out of RAM. Install a cheap SSD and upgrade RAM to 8GB(max supported). It is pretty easy to do. See this video.

Now speaking about why you would buy this from a geek point of view.

1. Price: You can't get anything better at this price.

2. Spec: May be not the typical power you need. But with dual 4K screen support and plenty of USB 3.0 ports, this is pretty good spec for a work PC.

3. Power: You can run this 24x7 and should take fraction of power a typical laptop takes.

4. Portable: Light and small than a typical laptop.

Also, some practically application of this.

1. File/Media server: Connect your external HDD and get access to all your file via network.

2. Torrent server: Run your torrents 24x7 on this tiny box. No need to keep your power hungry PC/laptop running.

3. Private VPN: You can install required software and run your own private VPN.

4. Server: The x86 celeron processor support basically any OS. Even support virtualization to run multiple servers.

5. IOT:  With the right set of tools you can turn this into a iOT device and would perform much better than RaspberryPi.

6. Crypto mining: Could have been good candidate for 24x7 running mining device. May not be profitable anymore.

This is supposed to be an upgrade to my core 2 duo, 4gb+256gb ssd, but j4025 is not much an upgrade(only 50% more) when compared to 4505(~80%)
