Overview: The FPX 5.1200 5-channel amplifier is effectively three amps built into one chassis, two full range 2-channel amps labeled CH1/CH2 and CH3/CH4 (typically used to power front and Rear speakers), and a mono subwoofer amp (inputs labeled CH5 and CH6). Each pair of full range channels is bridgeable, so the amp can be wired as 5-channel, 4-channel, or 3-channel.

CTA-2006 Compliant: CTA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring amplifier power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers), with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CTA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers under the same conditions (apples to apples).

Protection Circuits: The amplifier is equipped with protection circuits for the following: short circuits, low impedance, voltage drop, overheating, reversed polarity, and DC offset.

Remote Control: The included wired remote lets you control the subwoofer channel level relative to the rest of the system from the driver's seat. The small control module can be mounted on a console or under the dash with the supplied screws.

Controls:

• Fuses: The amp comes with six 30-amp ATM (mini-blade) fuses; three are installed internally, and the others are replacements. The bottom panel is removed to replace the fuses. A 90-amp fuse (minimum) should be installed on the power wire within 18" of the battery.
