Licensing Requirements |
This product includes a cloud license that provides product updates and support for a specified duration. Meraki devices are cloud-managed, so a cloud license is required for each device. You'll need to obtain new licenses before your old licenses expire to continue using this Meraki product. Discounted licenses for this product might be available through Cisco Meraki for Nonprofits at Connecting Up. If you choose not to renew, you will no longer be able to manage this product via the Meraki cloud, and this product will cease to function. Meraki cloud licenses use a "co-termination" licensing model by default, but you can opt in to per-device licensing through the Meraki Dashboard after you set up your account.
For more information, see the Meraki Licensing FAQ and Meraki Licensing Models page. |

If eligible, your organization may request any number of products for a total of up to US$8,000 in administrative fees per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). You can place as many requests as needed each year, as long as the total administrative fees for all of your requests do not exceed the maximum.
Organizations that have purchased Cisco products within the last six months or that plan to purchase Cisco products in the next six months are not eligible for products in this program. This applies to purchases made directly from Cisco or through resellers or retail channels.
Consult the eligibility and restrictions page to review your organization's eligibility to participate in this program.
Do Not Combine with Other Requests
Requests for donated Cisco and Meraki products may not include products from other programs. You must request products from other programs separately.
Affiliates of National Organizations Not Eligible
Affiliates of national organizations with more than 20 locations are not eligible for donated Cisco and Meraki products. This is true even if your affiliate is considered a separate entity and is not funded by the national organization. Examples of national organizations are the YMCA and the American Red Cross.

If you need to cancel a request, you must do so no later than 65 days before your estimated delivery date.
Warranty, Support, and Returns
Cisco Products
Cisco products include a five-year SMARTnet contract to help organizations install and maintain their systems. Benefits include technical support, replacement or repair of damaged products, and software updates. Learn how to register, maintain, and use your SMARTnet contract.
If your SMARTnet contract expires, we strongly encourage you to renew your SMARTnet service and support agreement annually (at your own expense) for as long as you own the equipment or until that equipment is declared end-of-life (EOL) and no longer supported by Cisco.
For products that arrive damaged or inoperable, use the Cisco warranty or your SMARTnet contract.
For incorrect product shipments, within 20 days of receipt of the items, contact us with "CISCO RETURN REQUEST" as the subject line and include the following:
- Your organization name
- Your Connecting Up donation request number
- A list of the products you would like to return
- Your reason for returning the products
Our Cisco representative will review your request and get in touch with you to make arrangements for the return.
For other product issues, Cisco generally does not accept returns. However, if you have special circumstances that you would like us to review, send us an email as described above.
To receive a refund on donated Cisco products, items should be returned within 20 days after delivery is complete for all products in your request.
Meraki Products
If your product arrives damaged or inoperable, contact Cisco Meraki support to troubleshoot the issue. If your issue can't be resolved, Cisco Meraki will arrange for your product to be exchanged.
If you receive the wrong product, within 20 days of receipt of the items, complete the Cisco Meraki RMA form to exchange it for the correct product.
If you are experiencing hardware issues for any licensed product under warranty, please contact Meraki support by logging in to the Meraki Dashboard after creating an account and selecting the Help tab.

Cisco Takeback and Recycle Program
Cisco is a green company. Donated Cisco and Meraki products that are no longer useful or have reached their end of life can be returned to Cisco through the Takeback and Recycle program. It is open to all users of Cisco equipment and its associated brands and subsidiaries.
Cisco Product Grant Program
The Cisco Product Grant Program is another option for some nonprofits to receive Cisco networking products. This program offers individual nonstandard networking bundles as donations to select nonprofits. For more information, see the Cisco Product Grant program.
Eligible organizations can receive donations from either the Cisco donation program at Connecting Up or the Cisco Product Grant Program, but they can't receive donations from both programs during the same fiscal year.
Consultants
Unless you have a dedicated networking or IT professional on staff, you should consider hiring a consultant to implement your Cisco products. The administrative fee for donated Cisco products doesn't include installation of your networking equipment. For more information about hiring a consultant, read our partner’s TechSoup articles on consultants.
