A: AnswerThe RE505X can be set up easy and intuitively using one of the 3 available options: 1. WPS - if your router supports WPS, setup can be as easy as pressing a button on the extender, and a button on your router. 2. TP-Link Tether app - if you have a smartphone, you can install the TP-Link Tether app to conveniently set up and mange the extender. 3. Web browser - you can also use a web browser on your PC or smartphone to set up the extender. All three setup methods are designed to ensure ease of installation in minutes.Answered by TPLinkSupport
- A: AnswerYes, the whole purpose is to set this up as a mesh network so you can move freely thought-out your living space and have a great signal all the time (automatically switching to best signal). Keep in mind you need it placed in the house such that it receives a good signal from your main router so it can replicate and transmit a "good" signal further. It doesn't do much good if you are retransmitting a weak signal. Instructions should explain all this.

The RE505X should be able to receive the signal from your router; however, the optimal location for the extender may vary depending on physical distance, obstruction, and layout of your home. Ideally, we recommend placing the extender in a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range to the desired area (basement TV area).

A: AnswerHi! Technically yes; however, whether it is effective or not will depend on the location of the extender in relation to the Wi-Fi source (e.g. router). The extender must be installed within the source network's range, and in an area where said signal is sufficiently stable, in order to extend it.Answered by TPLinkSupport

Try this one out if u have doubt like I did.
Ive always been skeptical about extenders until my bro recommended this one. So I tried it out and let me tell u.... I'm so glad I did, it was able to cover my entire house but also go through walls with wires, electronics and other people using it. My signal went from a turtles 15-30mbps all the way up to 300mbps. I definitely would recommend to anyone.

Works great and has easy setup
This product works great and was easy to set up. I had a dead spot in my house where wifi was spotty or slow sometimes, so I purchased this to see if it would help. I set it up in about 5 minutes, plugged it in near the dead spot, and now I have a solid wifi connection anywhere in the house. Be sure to connect your TVs, chromecasts, etc to the wifi emitted from the extender so that you can still stream to them.

Gets the Job.
Overall it works geeat. But still having and issues getting one my video recording devices connected to it. Which is odd because the other two of the same brand were seamless in connecting. I also hardwire connected it to one of my smart TVs because the TV Wifi in wasnt getting the job done. Now streaming on it is consistsnt without any buffering. The app is very intuitve making it simple to control, configure and connect
