Hidden gem.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great purchase, i got the 75 inch and for the price its a steal. The brightness and black levels are very very good. The sound is so good that if you have it in a smaller living room or bedroom you will not need a soundbar. If i was going to puck at anything it would maybe be the processing may not be as good as say a Sony but really I'm nit-picking because you really have to be trying to find flaws with this tv, in my opinion its a hidden gem and i would highly recommend it.

4.5 stars- great TV! No regrets!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a great TV. Would give 4.5 stars if I could! Only problem is with darker scenes there are sometimes when the picture is pixelated or weird looking. Also, if a reflection of a light is on the screen it has kind of a rainbow effect when the screen is darker or the TV is off. Paired with Roku soundbar and we love it!!! No major complaints and we’ve had it almost a year now. If you thinking about it….buy it! Great TV for the price and size!

Great picture, but some issues with sound
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Impressive TV .. picture quality and brightness is great. Some problems with the sound. Sometimes gets out of sync with picture. Only fix is to reboot the TV. Doesn't work great with sound bar since TV speakers won't disable.

Astonishing Blacks & Vibrant Colors, Extreme Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s hard to put into words how amazing this TV is. Its picture is absolutely stunning. Blacks are very close to OLED levels. Colors are vibrant and close to accurate out of the box. And total brightness levels are off the chart. I’ve had two previous Hisense models. So far, Hisense has delivered good quality TVs for affordable prices. However, with this model, Hisense has created an exceptional TV that far surpasses many of the main television brands, and for half the price. It’s truly that good. What makes the TVs picture quality better than most LED TVs out today is its black levels. Blacks are truly black, meaning black areas on the screen are deep without a hint of blooming from lighter images on the screen. This is accomplished by 528 local dimming zones. My 2021 Hisense TV (65U7G) only had 90 dimming zones and that TV created a great picture. This TV is on a whole other level and is made for cinematic movie enthusiasts. Coupled with a peak brightness of 1500 plus nits, the colors, HDR especially, are vibrant and sharp. In fact, the image is so bright on this television, I find myself enabling the built-in automatic light sensor in order to tame the brightness of the backlight. I do this because I love to watch movies in rooms with very little light. Without lowing the backlight, it’s almost too bright for my eyes. However, if you use this TV in a very bright room, this TV is designed for this type of environment. And one more important note about this model. ALL screen sizes use a VA (vertical alignment) panel, including the 75 inch model. This has been confirmed by Hisense’s engineers themselves. Unfortunately, there has been some confusion even within Hisense’s customer service and marketing departments, and wrong information has been disseminated regarding the panel type. But Hisense’s upper management and engineers confirmed that all three sizes of the U8H models released in USA have VA panels. And after seeing the contrast and black level achieved on my 75” model, there is no way this is an IPS (in-plane switching) panel. Regarding sound options, I’m extremely happy with the features on this model. The built-in 20 watt subwoofer creates a sound that is rich as well as deep. I however, connect my TV to my audio receiver. And it’s here that I’m extremely satisfied with the technology included on this television. Because it uses the latest eARC (enhance audio return channel) standard, it’s capable of sending a Dolby Atmos signal to my receiver. This feature has worked from the start and the signal has been reliable within many different apps (Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.). Other technology built into this TV that is very useful is its gaming features. Because the unit comes with the HDMI 2.1 standard, I’m able to take advantage of the screen’s 120Hz refresh rate for gaming. The TV recognizes when a gaming console or computer is connected and automatically switches itself to gaming mode, which also includes Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), AMD’s Freesync Premium Pro technology, and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). The later keeps the input lag to a minimum. To enable these features, the Enhanced HDMI setting needs to be turned on in the menu settings. It also helps that this TV uses the latest wireless standard, 802.11 AX, or otherwise known as Wi-Fi 6. If you own a router that supports Wi-Fi 6, then gaming and streaming 4K HDR content is extremely fast. However, even without the latest standard, the TV is fully capable of streaming content using the AC standard (Wi-Fi 5). I tested the TV using two different routers with the different standards, and buffering was never an issue. Not everything with this TV is perfect. Spec-wise, it’s limited to 8-bit color. It uses a technology called frame Rate Control (FRC) to simulate 10-bit color, and this limitation may be a concern to PC gamers. It’s really hard to tell the difference in color when watching TV, namely because FRC is doing its job. However, if a PC gamer is set on configuring their PC to output a game in 10-bit color, they will be limited to 8-bit. This is not a simple task to begin with, especially in Windows. So, I suspect this issue will affect a small number of users. As with any TV, the larger it is, the heavier it gets. The 75” model weighs about 82 pounds. I like to setup my TVs on a pedestal stand with swivel capabilities. I definitely had to purchase a larger and stronger stand. The footprint of the stand’s base needed to be large enough to prevent tipping. And because this TV is heavy, I needed to find a pedestal rated for 100 pounds. If you can’t tell already, I am a big fan of this TV. The picture quality is truly remarkable. I was hesitant going with the larger 75-inch model, but I’m so glad I did. Even at 12 feet away, the larger screen size was not overwhelming. Simple put, everything continued to look amazing, even with the larger screen size. Again, it’s amazing how good this TV is, especially at this price point. It’s starting to make less sense to pay a premium to other brands when a TV this good is available at half the price.
