About Us

WIX Filters was founded in an old cotton mill in Gastonia by Jack Wicks and his business partner, Paul Crenshaw, who needed an inexhaustible supply of pure white cotton thread waste for the filtering media of their new company. At the time, Gastonia and Gaston County produced more combed cotton yarn. Our focus today is the same as it was when we were founded in 1939 – to provide high quality filters designed to exceed their performance demands.     This is a clean filter that is a great value for the price. The performance is top three and leagues above the orange brand. The fit is perfect and I won't hesitate to use Wix brand on my next oil change in three months as usual. It's Wix or Purolator on our vehicles only and will stay that way as long as we're able to change our own oil. These filters are the whole reason we're left with changing our own oil as the only option.

    Wix has always been one of my favorite filter brands to use and their quality continues to prove itself. I run Wix filters on vehicles that see 1,500+ miles in a month of city driving and I will always opt for one if a vehicle has had a history of buildup or deposits in the crank case in conjunction with a high quality oil. My only complaint is that when you purchase them through Amazon they are usually shipped in their original cardboard box inside of a bubble mailer with no additional padding or protection from damage in shipping. Every one of the Wix filters I've received through Amazon has been out of the box and bounced around inside of the mailer to the point where they've almost worn through the mailer. I've also had one show up with a small dent in the side of the filter but fortunately the media inside was still in good shape so it was still useable.

    Great filters, but I'm hesitant to continue buying them on Amazon given the condition I continue to receive them in.
