Good quality, easy to install and label
This is a great, well priced patch panel. The layout allowed for reasonably easy punch downs, and as a bonus you get free wire management brackets. I normally find little plastic freebie cable managers a pain and throw them out, but these actually worked really well. I installed 7 of these in a new rack build. I mis-punched a few, but it was my fault. I do wish each port was a little more obvious on the back as one set of blocks runs right into the next so if you don't pay attention it's easy to mis-wire - but out of 24 x 7 I probably only missed 4 or 5 and they were easy to correct.

If you have a smaller wiring job or just a job where it's not practical to install a standard patch panel rack mount, these are pretty awesome. Anyone can install this, but you need to know how to operate a punch tool, the basics of wiring, and should have some way of testing it when done.

They use a standard 66 block wall mount. You screw the plastic wall mount to the wall and then the patch panel itself snaps in. I love this system because you can unclip the patch panel from wall mount, flip it over, snap it on upside down, and easily punch all your wires--then just flip it back over when done!

Also it passed with flying colors when tested! I bought three of these and punched 20 of the ports. I had a wiring job that everything had to go in a small cabinet that a rack mount system just wouldn't fit. I used Cat6 500mhz wire and cat5e keystones on the other side. Every run passed rated for better than cat6 speed--well after I fixed the one I miss-punched!

I've used this style before. Be careful, some come with with the 66 block mount and some don't. But this Tripp Lite version does and it works great great. I've bought three of the Tripp Lite cat5e in July 2015 and one of the cat6 ones in June of 2014. I've installed a lot of patch panels and have no complaints with Tripp Lite.

This works great. I bought it to mount in my Leviton media box, but after reading multiple reviews, decided to mount it above the box and run the cable into the box. Once mounted, the concern was the Cat5 plugs would stick out too far to close the door on the Media Cabinet. After installation, I think it would fit if you carefully bend the Cat5 down to fit inside. Can't say for sure because I didn't do this. I like the fact that you can reverse the Panel to expose the back side to punch down the incoming Cat5. If you're adding cable over time, flipping the Panel over becomes more difficult because the Cat5 patch cables are attached to the other side. You could always remove the patch cables, and reattach them, but if you're working while others in the house are watching TV, browsing internet, etc.., then they get cut off. Just a planning issue, not a knock against the panel. This works as advertised.

If you're doing this at home, on a budget, you could always use an electrical box, multiple outlet keystone faceplate, and keystone punch down jacks to make your own patch panel. I did this in my upstairs closet because of the difficulty in running multiple Cat5 cables into my upstairs. I ran 1 cable as the supply, hooked it into an 4 port wireless bridge / access point, then ran 3 lines to the other rooms in the upstairs from keystone jacks I installed into the wall. This serves my purpose well. None-the-less, I really like the Patch Panel.

Very happy with this panel. My home was wired with Cat5e but was used for phone lines (which not many now still use, thanks cell phones). This allowed me to adapt the existing wiring to be included in my network when used with a switch mounted beside it. Installation was simple and there are T568a/b color markings in the back to ease with the wiring (a punch down tool is needed and they are not that much if looking for a home owner quality model).
Simply mount the bracket, snap in the patch panel backwards to keep it in place as you punch down your runs. Once done, remove it from the mount, flip over and snap back in with the front facing out. Then run a patch cord from the lines you punched down to your connected switch and you are pretty much done.
If it's a clean run then you are set. If you are using existing Cat5e that was used initially for phone lines then make sure you purchase Cat5e punch down jacks for the wall connections in your rooms.
No issues or problems, worked like a champ and very happy with it.

This was exactly what I needed to clean up the area where my network cabling met my router. The panel is good quality, and was easy to install (I did telecom/structured wiring for 15 years so I had a little practice installing patch panels). I mounted the cage and snapped the panel in with the patch side facing in. The markings were clear and easy to understand on how to lay out the wire pairs to get 568A or 568B type terminations ( I opted for 568B, but either one is appropriate as long as its the same on both ends of the cable). Then just unsnap the face plate, flip it around and snap it back to the cage. I used a label maker to label my ports. Then just patch to the router with 3' shortie patch cables and it was done. The face plate is metal, the instructions were clear and easy to understand even for someone without any cabling termination experience. I recommend this patch panel!

I am an IT professional and write this as a business owner that specializes in IT support and services for small business and residential customers.

This patch panel arrived in a small white box with not much insulation to protect the patch panel. It does come with basic instructions that a non professional might find confusing.

I emptied the contents of the box and removed the wall mount bracket. I then was able to secure the bracket to the backer board. After this is done you can snap the patch panel onto the bracket backwards to begin punching down.

The labels that are in place on the back of this patch panel are flimsy and aren’t secured so they move around. I was able to terminate all jacks without and faulty ones.

One thing I must say is this is a budget patch panel. It’s not high quality like other brands but it gets the job done and seems to be reliable. The majority of this panel is made from plastic which makes it feel cheap.

Overall, If your looking to save money and get a patch panel that works this is the product for you.

This is a very robust and reliable patch panel. I have bought these on many occasions and they are very simple to install. Box is supplied with rack bolts and nuts, patch panel, cable guides, cable ties and some instructions. You will need a cable stripper, a punch down tool and some finger exercise.

I installed CAT6 cables using the T568B standard. It's extremely important that both ends of a cable have the same configuration or they become a crossover cable. The cable guides are handy to keep the cable in place during/after punching down and are easy to clip on but once in place are very difficult to get off (not that you'll ever need to remove these). I would recommend a punch down tool with a wire cutter as general wire cutters don't result in a clean finish. Also, the bulkier the punch down tool, the more difficult to use with the cable guides in place because some of the cable guides stick out over the connectors and the punch down tool does not line up accurately which then require bending the guide back a little without snapping the plastic. Always give yourself enough conductor length to reach the connectors, starting with the farthest connector and working your way in. After punching down it's best to keep the conductors as close to their connectors as sometimes interfering conductors from other cables can result in crosstalk.

This is a great product for home installs too, and accompanied with a cable organiser, can look very neat and tidy. The colour coded standards on the reverse for each port are helpful and makes installation easy. The connectors are great quality and reliable for PoE devices running around the clock.

I've used this for 4 access points, 4 PoE CCTV camera's, 8 in-wall modules and various local hardware around the house. Setup in a reasonably insulated loft, it's been running for 6 months now, around the clock with no failures, no problems, and 100% uptime across the network.

A recommended buy for any DIY enthusiast as much as a network specialist.

Well built unit, much more solid than some of the less expensive knock-offs I've used lately. Wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if you care about the quality of the unit you're punching down your cables into.

I have this installed in an under stairs cupboard with a couple of NAS' attached to it. No problem with the installation using CAT6 cables, it's nice and solid on the wall and I've had no connectivity issues since it's been installed.
