Editorial Reviews
Limited two CD edition in eco-friendly packaging includes a bonus disc containing demos of three of his biggest hits plus an unreleased poem read by MJ. 2009 release from the late great King of Pop, the musical companion to the major motion picture of the same name. This Is It: The Movie is made up of intimate and spectacular footage filmed during rehearsals for Jackson's proposed July 2009 comeback shows. When he died in June of 2009, he left behind hundreds of hours of footage, which have been edited together to create a glorious tribute to his majestic talents. Disc One features some of his biggest hits sequenced in the same order as they appear in the film. This package includes a lavish 36 page booklet.

As Michael said at the last day of his preparations for the concerts:"Thank's for taking me this far. I can take it from there. I know I can do it." He did show that his desire and dreams about come back were strong and real...for his children, for us, for the purpose. He overstepped his physical pain and public humiliation. He was ready to go.
It does show the creativity process and perfectionism of Michael' work on stage, his gentle and intelligent personality. You may like him or don't. But I belive everybody will learn about his message to the people: Love is important, Give your love back to the world, Love each other and our home-Earth, We are one, Make a change.
If you are going to see the movie, please, stay till the very end of "This Is It"- there is a beautiful surprise after the credits. You will see that Michael loves and cares about us. He will be back...on his own time...
MJ is all about Love to the planet Earth and all it's creations.
I like his music. Now I listen his poem and think about how we make our own destiny. I can feel his pain...his innocence.
He can touch your soul with his lyrics. Personally, I do not like his "Thriller" era that was his blessing in a music industry and also a curse in his life.
I can relate to his more mature period.
"Black And White", "Man In The Mirror",the inspiration behind "We Are The World", "Earth Song", "They do not care about us", "Speechless",etc.
He is a true Artist. He is a Human.
They say:"He was famous because he was not normal" - this opinion is for the crowd. We all have two sides that are forever in conflict. But rare unique human as Michael Jackson with his philosophy of "Heal the World with Love" brings very strong moral message. His talent is able to touch the soul of people who are prepared to listen and open the mind of those who are able to think.
For me Michael is like a meteorite.
Burned out but left bright light...
There will never be like him again. Genius and Love is a very rare combination.
Many years ago I read novel "The American tragedy". It does remind me the line of personal tragedy in the society that based on materialism and stereotypes.
Allow yourself to know Michael Jackson in his deepest emotions.
So, listen his songs and poem "Planet Earth" and open your heart, feel it, make a change...
L.O.V.E.
First of all, this was my first Michael Jackson Compilation album so I can't go to the point that Oh I've bought these compilations before. The songs were amazing. They were more clear, fresh and strong than their past counterparts especially "They Don't Care About Us" and "Billie Jean". The beat in "Billie Jean" was even more powerful and clear sonically. The songs on the album are all his hits but I felt "Bad" should have been there. The song "This Is It" also I heard it before on [...] and even though I had its catchy tune in mind,it felt great to hear it on my system. "This Is It (Orchestra Version)" is pretty good even though Orchestra has a very small part. In the end of the orchestra version, what I think is that we can also hear a small fraction of I think Jermaine Jackson's voice. The unreleased tracks of "Wanna Be startin' Somethin'". "She's Out of My Life" and "Beat It" were also great even though they had a small run time for like about 1 to 2mins. Planet Earth is also good to hear. I think I read someone's review of "She's Out of My Life"'s review on Amazon and they said the guitar in the song awesome. I think the demo should have been the final song due to the awesome guitar.
Apart from the songs, The whole album is actually like a pictorial booklet which has Michael's last rehearsal photographs which are beautiful and totally amazing. When I hear these songs I see the photographs in the album and I feel like I'm there. What lacked in the album was the lyrics. This Is It proves to be more than just a simple album. It stands as a one of a kind Visual Album in which you can see and hear.
For all those fans of Michael and music lovers, this album is a must for them and I mean it. The album is worth your money and time. THIS Is IT!!!!
