TC-898UV Bad Radio
I would not buy anything from Radio Max ever again! I sent the BAD Radio back to them in May 29,2020 and now it is July 21,2020 and still have not got any refund from Radio Max.HYS TC-898 UV, This radio is a very nice looking and I was looking forward to using it in my shack. When I unpack it and read the manual that was sent with it, I started to program the radio. I tried to programmed 16 channels that I use in my area. The microphone will not stay power on and I found you have to hold the cord (RJ plug) up for it to stay on , this is a problem. I managed to program the 16 channels and tested but it only work on channel 1, 146.520. Tx and Rx ok on 146.520 with 25 watts, would not TX on the other channels. I checked the program and went though the setting and all were set to Dup +/- with the tone as needed to accress the local repeaters and it failed to work. I tried to download the software from the disk that was sent with the radio and it failed to download on my computer and I tried to download the software on all 6 of my computers and it FAILED. Then I was going to try to program it with chirp software that I have and used with my I-Com and Kenwood radios, could not find the program software for this TC-898 UV. I would like a refund for this radio plus the shipping cost. Yes I had to pay the return shipping cost to Radio Max.Thank YouDonald Brownwa4umh
