11 Most Disgusting Movie Creatures Of All Time

5. Mark Hamill Cockroach - The Guyver

King Kong Andy Serkis
New Line

It’s nice to see Mark Hamill make something of an acting comeback in recent years, thanks to Kingsman, The Flash TV series and, of course, the new Star Wars movies. Unfortunately, he went through a dry spell after Return Of The Jedi, and throughout the nineties, he mostly appeared in straight-to-video junk.

The Guyver was one such movie; a low-budget adaptation of the famous anime, it was let down by an appalling script and a really grating tone. Hamill was added to the cast for some star power, and the cover tried to convince punters he was actually playing The Guyver.

Instead, he’s a CIA agent helping The Guyver, and in the end, he’s turned into a giant cockroach by the evil villains. While the movie sucks the practical effects are well executed, so it’s unsettling to witness Hamill slowly and painfully morph in a glistening man/cockroach thing.

Hamill also sells the bone snapping body horror of it, and Star Wars fans will no doubt shed a tear or two watching their hero morph into a slimy bug.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
