The Georgia Bulldogs will try to win their second consecutive national championship on Monday night when they take on the TCU Horned Frogs in the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship. However, they won’t have one familiar and fuzzy face there to cheer them on.

According to Adam Murphy of Atlanta News First, mascot Uga X will not be traveling to  SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for the title game. The trip would be a bit too much for the nine-year-old bulldog and his family decided it was best to keep him safe at home.

However, the news that Uga won’t be roaming the sidelines is pretty disappointing to Georgia fans, and many others in the college football world.

“This is enough to make me hammer the TCU moneyline. Get UGA on a private jet!” said KCCI’s Jeff Dubrof.

“This is worth at least a half of a point for TCU,” said Action Network’s Darren Rovell.

“TCU +12.5,” said CBSSports’ Tom Fornelli.

“Shouldn’t he have a Madden cruiser?” asked the NY Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel.

Uga made headlines back in 2019 when he and Texas mascot Bevo got into it on the sidelines. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Uga X has been the school’s mascot since 2015.
