about

Although Im new to the world of circuit bending, I love it and am obsessed! The name itself makes me cringe though in the same way that IDM does. Anyway, we're here for the sounds, not the names! For this library, I've modded a Casio SA 2, Casio SA 5 and T.I.'s Speak and Math. The bends implemented are some of the classic known modifications available...including: Power starve, Glitch switches/buttons/pots, body contact points, LED's (no aural benefits, but still fun), Audio output, pitch tracking distortion, etc. After bending a few SA model keyboards, one starts to recognize the types of effects yielded from the mods. Depending on the amount of randomization or "glitch" dialed in, the SA models will spit out aleatoric melodies or glitchy DSP laden versions of the demo songs (or pieces of the demo songs randomly sequenced together) or both, or all of the above all together! To me, the sounds are amazing, and I love the endless ideas spewing from these little machines! I recorded myself "jamming" on each keyboard and cut up the results. These files are almost original, except for some light dynamics processing just to get them to a nice useable state. I consider these sounds random idea starters, effects or production elements. Thank you to the immensely generous godfather of circuit bending Reed Ghazala! Please enjoy!

Over 200 individual sounds, totaling over 1.4 GB of data. Line level recordings of circuit bent devices. A great source for glitchy material. Descriptive, detailed Soundminer metadata is baked into each file. 24 bit 48k .wav files.
