"Take one really fab sounding original 1973 violet rams head muff, examine carefully, find out what makes it so special and then make it even better. An aggressive high gain monster when you want it to be, with great mids and tons of character. Take it into the desert with your herb of choice, this is the angry sister to the P73 silicon fuzz/distorter I released earlier this year.
As with the last P73’s, tuning is exactly where I want them to be and consistent throughout the batch, whilst also reducing the noise which these high gain four transistor units can have an issue with.
Bit more hand wiring was done in these violet editions, otherwise it is still the old school strip-board layout. Components are the best available and ones that do the job and do the job well. Transistors are Phillips BC549C’s, they are low noise and to military specification.
