Remote Learning Support Sessions

October 2, 2020 Remote Learning Support Sessions

As we conclude our first non-hybrid week of the school year, I wanted to send a quick reminder of the additional supports made available to our full remote learners.

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we conclude our first non-hybrid week of the school year, I wanted to thank you for your great support. As I have said often, our community is one where school staff and families will always work together to support our kids. In addition to all that our classroom teachers are offering, please be reminded that we have subject-area specialists in math, science, social studies, ELA, world language, and special education to support our full remote learners in Grades 7 & 8. As you will see on our schedule, these specialists are available throughout the week to meet with your children to support their growth in these subject areas. As noted, students are encouraged to e-mail if additional or alternative times to meet might be necessary. In most cases, you will see that our specialists have 9 sessions each week to meet with students in order to:
  • respond to questions that came up during a lesson or assignment
  • review materials in preparation for a test or other assessment
  • work on skills specific to a subject area
  • organize course materials to promote learning
  • review student progress in a course
Please use this direct link to the Remote Learning Student Support Sessions file.

As our school programs evolve over time, the goals of these sessions may also change to meet student needs. What will remain constant is our belief in your children and our commitment to supporting each child--whether in school or while fully remote.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Mr. Keegan
