I am especially proud of the efforts these past few months from our consignors to take the world’s Covid health challenge that all of us have faced in one way or another, and yet be able to produce and develop the exciting set of genetics found in these good 2020 Illini Elite cattle. What an awesome set of cattle being offered by our Illini Elite consignors! As you get the chance to look at the heifer calf pictures and videos, you will find current genetics in heifers that phenotypically are built right and most certainly will compete! Steelia is one that we like a lot for her extra shape, width, and dimension. She is a wide based heifer who is excellent in terms of structure and yet still has some look from the side. Not only does she have the phenotype, but she has the pedigree as well being out of our Izzy donor who is a compete outcross to any modern-day genetics and yet still has produced 4 division champions at the Illinois state fair. We are excited about this heifer’s potential as a show heifer but even more excited about her breeding potential!

I bred several more to Oracle this Spring when I saw this star faced heifer out of an EXAR Lutton Angus cow. RS Hearthstone puts a lot of good together with her big center, her wide and functional base, and a little extra shot down her top. While she is moderate in her frame, she is exquisite in her head and neck, and transitions smoothly into her shoulder. These SimAngus females constructed like this one has a lot of breeding flexibility, but this one can definitely show, and do it well, before you drop her off in the cowherd. Here’s a cool half blood with endless potential.

I have two of these Forever Lady’s and Data Breaches in the sale. 110H is the older sister of Lot 29, 319H and I love them both. We bought the Forever Lady dam by Dameron First Class in the Lazy H dispersal in 2018 so she is just getting her start, but what a start she is having! 110H has so much dimension to her heart, only equaled by her center and flank depth. She is super sound in her hock, solid in her angles, and extended in her neck. She’s jet black and I can only imagine how balanced and true she will be walking across the ring or pasture. This is a really good built red heifer by Profit and out of the Hairietta 04B donor! Enough said right? No question 223H has stardom in her pedigree and she has done nothing but continue to live up to it as she weaned and got her start in the show barn. I liked 223H on day 1 and months later she has continued to power up and impress. This Profit daughter has ample skeleton with lots of front-end length and extension. She certainly has some hip and top shape but still looks feminine and gets around with agility and flex. We’ve had the opportunity to sell numerous Brokers out of 77H’s dam, Hara’s Miss Salute 77Z and to say the least, “they have all been good cattle”. The Data Breach cattle have certainly been pleasing and functional and 711H hits that high water mark as well. Out of a Colburn Primo Angus dam we purchased from the Rutledge family at their Fall Club Calf Sale, we could not be more pleased with the job she did on her first two offspring! Talk about one that is pulled apart, and not unlike her mamma, RS Highlight is ultra-deep centered, clean fronted, and functionally wide in her base. Just a real nice feminine hock that makes her go so easy when asked. This is a really good March that has every right to be competitive in the SimAngus shows for her new owner.

I mentioned earlier the two Data Breach sisters out of the Forever Lady donor dam, so here you go. Just so much to like in this month younger star faced sister. 319H has both plenty of fore rib and femininity making this one unique breeding piece. I love her neck tidiness and how it transitions and blends so well into the top of her shoulder. Her quarter is long and deep, she’s incredibly deep centered, and her top is full enough. The WC Double Downs are nice and he no doubt was able to work well with Hairietta as seen in this percentage baldy daughter. Talk about striking, 112H jumped out at me with her shear presence each time I drove the pastures. Just so fresh in her front end and yet long in her lines, and shapely in her hip, you would have to think this one just needs to keep chugging along and she will be there in the end and will be right in her build! If you want to get competitive in a little younger division, hop on board here! The consistency of the Hairietta’s leaves me with no doubt on this girl’s endless potential.

I felt really positive about this heifer when I saw her at birth, a baldy and nice! H30 is smooth made, deep enough, adequate muscle and top shape. Fancy as we call her has been a standout from the day she was born. Her elegant front end and balanced look from the side gives her a profile that would catch any judge’s eye in the show ring. Brent and I really liked County O when we saw him on display at the National Western and just had to try him on Hairietta 04B. Most definitely you will have fun going through the County O’s! Tremendous quality quickly defines 565H but to talk her more specifically, she’s got some look with all that bone and shape. She is clean necked, big topped, and has lots of circumference of bone. These County O’s came late but this one is starting to power up and what a “nice one she’ll be!” Someone needs to win that May class and Division so get in on the fun here!

This red County O heifer is particularly striking with all the early power and look that she has put together. Again, another May that warrants some attention with so much natural shape to her top, and power and curvature to her rib. This is a super cool little May with the sharpness of lines and the cleanness that 7386H so eloquently has. This Hairietta x County O was eye popping good out on her cow walking across the pastures. You don’t make one much tidier made but if that is not enough, she balances up in her top and hip and gives you plenty of flexion as she goes. I like this young female and believe her angles and correctness will make her an easy one to feed and ultimately give the new owner the opportunity for the Winners’ Circle!

The last of the Hairietta x County O’s and I suppose by now, we all realize that they are considered good cattle. Just slightly younger and smaller, I am not so sure this one doesn’t have the most flank and fore rib. Super wide at her base and yet so true in the shape of her rib, one has to believe that this little wide body will make one functional show prospect and cow. Without question she is good at the standstill, but when she goes, she reaches with plenty of flex. Another awesome prospect and I can’t wait to see this one mature!
