Baseball Loses Conference Opener To Eagles

Bucs fall to 5-2, 0-1 SSC

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry lost 11-10 to the Embry-Riddle Eagles at Feinbloom Field in the Sunshine State Conference baseball opener for both teams on Friday night. The Eagles scored in eight of the nine innings.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Tyler Stufano (2-0) went 5.2 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk. He struck out seven to earn the win for the Eagles.
  • Joe Balsam worked the final three innings, and allowed four runs on three hits and a walk, but picked up the save.
  • Federico Zapata (1-1) took the loss for Barry. He allowed six runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk in 4.2 innings of relief. 
  • Maceda went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. He came up a double shy of the cycle.
  • Stella, Noriega and Ogden all had two hits for the Bucs.
