MELBOURNE, Fla. – The women's tennis coaches in the Sunshine State Conference predict that Embry-Riddle will finish sixth in the regular season standings in 2024. The announcement, made by conference officials on Wednesday, saw the Eagles receive 42 points in the voting.
Embry-Riddle returns seven of eight letterwinners from last season's 11-7 squad, including five starters. Headlining the list of returners is two-time All-SSC selection
Itxaso Blanco who was ranked 30th in the final ITA/NCAA II singles poll of 2023.
Six-time defending national champion Barry received 78 points and seven first-place votes to top the coaches' poll. Nova Southeastern and Lynn tied for second with 70 points each with NSU receiving three first-place votes. Saint Leo (57 points) and Tampa (43 points) rounded out the top five.
Chad Berryhill's first season as the Eagles' head coach begins with a Feb. 7 match against Florida National at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
