There are a variety of facilities and resources on WSU’s Pullman campus that students use in DTC to create their work. The DTC Department maintains the Creativity Suite and Digital Foundations Lab, and DTC students can also use other labs on campus.

The Creativity Suite
The Creative Suite (CS) is located on the 4th floor of Avery Hall in Avery 451. The focus of the CS is to expose students to cutting-edge technologies that are rapidly becoming a part of the creative industries. It provides students with a space to work on projects that may take a longer amount of time to produce. The CS has several computer workstations with the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite and many other programs taught in DTC.
There are three rooms that can be reserved for up to three days at a time for bigger projects:
- The Alternative Realities Room for motion capture, green screen, virtual, and augmented reality work;
- The Sounds & Music Room set up for audio recording and digital music creation; and
- The Animation Farm contains equipment to help create analog animation and a render farm for faster processing of digital media.
In addition, there is a conference table with room for up to 8 people at a time that can be reserved for meetings.
The CS also has equipment available for DTC students to check out:
- Professional Digital Video Cameras
- Professional Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras (DSLRs) with multiple lens options
- 360 degree video cameras
- Virtual Reality headsets
- Augmented Reality headsets
- Field audio recording sets
- Field lighting sets
- Digital drawing pads

The Digital Foundations Lab
The Digital Foundations Lab is located in Thompson 1 and is equipped with 30 PC computers. This space is optimized for the creation of media that demands more computing power. It is ideal for animation, video post-production, and game development.

Multimedia Tutoring
DTC is excited to offer in-person tutoring. During open lab hours a Lab Aide will be present in the Digital Foundations Lab (Thompson 1). If you need to check out equipment, please see the Lab Aide.

Other Resources
WSU’s Pullman campus offers several other resources for DTC students.
The Dimensions Lab features 14 computers with the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Maya, 3DS Max, Revit, Fusion 360, and many other programs. It also features an Audio Lab and 3D Scanning Room, available by appointment. The Dimensions Lab is located on the first floor of the Holland Library near the Terrell Library elevators.
The Media Development Lab in Spark 210 features 24 workstation PCs and two Apple workstations with the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Maya, 3DS Max, Revit, Fusion 360, and many other programs. The lab also features a large format printer, available for use with a fee.
The Design Studio in Spark 115 includes workstations with design and media tools identical to the Media Development Lab, above, as well as a laser cutter, waterjet cutter, CNC machine, 3D scanner, and conventional and large-scale 3D printing.
The Center for Digital Scholarship and Curation (CDSC) brings together community members, students, faculty, and researchers in collaborative digital projects that emphasize ethical curation, scholarship, research, and publication. It is located on the 4th floor of Holland Library. The CDSC is currently available by appointment only.
