This 1997 Nissan 240SX SE spent time in Arizona and California before it was acquired by the seller in 2012. Subsequent work is said to have included a repaint in black as well as installing a JDM S14 Kouki front bumper cover and rear wing, S15 Silvia seats trimmed in gray cloth, and a replacement clutch, timing chain tensioner, and power steering lines. Power is provided by a 2.4-liter KA24DE inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes 17″ Enkei RPF1 wheels, Feal 441 coilover suspension, Progress front and rear sway bars, a Nismo power brace and engine mounts, SPL tension rods, R32 GT-R front brakes, an Injen intake, cruise control, and a Kenwood CD stereo. This S14 Kouki shows 165k miles and is now offered with a Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The second generation of the 240SX received a facelift for the 1997 model year that included revised bumper covers and projector headlights. This example is one of 3,655 produced for the model year and came optioned without a sunroof. The car is said to have been repainted in its current black in 2019, which included rolling the front and rear fenders and replacing the side window seals and windshield. A JDM S14 Kouki-style front and rear bumper cover, grille, rear wing, and valances have been added along with clear turn signal lenses. The Carfax report shows “damage reported due to vandalism” in a 2003 entry.
Enkei RPF1 17″ wheels are wrapped in 245/40 front and 255/40 rear Hankook RS3 tires. Feal 441 coilover suspension with 8k front and 6k rear swift springs have been fitted, as have Progress front and rear sway bars, SPL outer tie rods and tension rods, and Circuit Sports rear camber, traction, and toe arms. Energy Suspension front and rear lower control arm bushings and differential bushings have also been installed. Stopping power is handled by R32 GT-R front brake calipers and Z32 300ZX rear brake calipers, which are accompanied by Hawk HP+ brake pads, and StopTech front and rear stainless steel brake lines. A brake fluid flush was completed in April 2023 by the seller.
The 2+2 cabin features Nissan Silvia S15 front bucket seats upholstered in gray cloth along with patterned inserts on the rear seats and door panels. Equipment includes a GReddy aluminum shift knob, cruise control, and a Kenwood CD stereo and speakers. Cracks are noted in the dashboard, which has been fitted with a Coverlay aftermarket cover. Sound deadening has been fitted to the trunk and rear wheel wells, and the seller notes the presence of interior rattles. The air conditioning is inoperative.
The three-spoke airbag steering wheel frames white-dial instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 165k miles, approximately 10k of which have been added by the seller.
The 2.4-liter KA24DE inline-four features four valves per cylinder and was factory rated at 155 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque. Modifications include an Injen intake, a Cusco strut tower brace, and Nismo engine mounts. An oil change and transmission fluid change was completed in April 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. A Nismo power brace, a custom front undertray, and custom front fender liners have also been added.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage report as well as being designated a gross polluter by the state of California in 2007 and 2011 but has since passed a California emissions test in August 2022.
