This 1978 Honda CB400A Hawk Hondamatic is finished in Tahitian Red and is said to have been with one family since the 1980s. Powered by a 395cc SOHC parallel twin linked to a two-speed Hondamatic semi-automatic transmission with a torque converter, it is further equipped with a dual exhaust system, electronic ignition, a pair of Keihin carburetors, and both kick and electric starters as well as a front disc brake, a parking brake, 19″ and 18″ ComStar alloy wheels, chrome fenders, a black two-up seat, and both center and side stands. Reportedly kept primarily in storage since the 1990s, the bike was acquired by its current owner in 2010. This CB400A is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, spare parts, and a clean Colorado title in the owner’s name.

The bike is finished in Tahitian Red with black, orange, and white graphics. Features include a chrome engine guard, fenders, and rear grab bar and rack as well as street lighting, a black vinyl-upholstered two-up seat, and both center and side stands. ComStar alloy wheels measuring 18″ up front and 19″ out back are wrapped in Bridgestone Spitfire 11 tires said to have been mounted circa 2010. Suspension is provided by a telescopic fork as well as dual preload-adjustable chrome shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is supplied by a hydraulically actuated front disc along with a rear drum, and the front caliper’s black finish has come off.

The chrome handlebar carries a parking brake lever on the left along with dual chrome mirrors. Instrumentation just ahead consists of a 100-mph Nippon Seiki speedometer, neutral and gear indicators, and secondary indicator lights for turn signals, oil pressure, high beam, and parking brake. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles.

The air-cooled 395cc SOHC parallel twin is equipped with electronic ignition, a pair of Keihin carburetors, a chrome dual exhaust system, and both kick and electric starters. Factory-rated output was 30 horsepower and 19 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the oil was recently changed.
