Connect up to 16 JBODs, support up to 4.6PB raw capacity

The TL-R1620Sep-RP has four 12 Gb/s SAS 3.0 (x4 Lane) SFF-8644 SAS Wide Ports. Up to sixteen TL-R1620Sep-RP can be daisy-chained to achieve a raw capacity of up to 4.6PB.

Note:
1. Use the CAB-SAS10M-8644-8088 12Gb/s to 6Gb/s external cable to connect to SAS NAS / REXP expansion enclosures and 6 Gb/s SAS HBA.
2. The host NAS requires one QXP-1620S-B3616W SAS card to daisy chain sixteen JBODs with single path routing. Using multipath routing with link aggregation enabled, the host NAS with one QXP-1620S-B3616W SAS card can daisy chain four JBODs; the host NAS with two QXP-1620S-B3616W SAS cards can daisy chain eight JBODs.

Multipath routing to ensure continuous system operations

By daisy chaining the TL-R1620Sep-RP, data transmission loads can be balanced with multipath routing to achieve high availability. If one route fails, another transmission route can be used to access the data and ensure continuous system operations. The TL-R1620Sep-RP also features a redundant power supply to ensure system uptime.

Note: Multipath routing requires a host NAS with QTS 4.5.1 / QuTS hero h4.5.1 (or later).

Storage Management

By using Storage & Snapshot Manager on the host NAS, you can configure and manage the TL-R1620Sep-RP’s storage space by setting RAID groups, storage pools and snapshots, or configuring the JBOD as the storage volume of host NAS, allowing you to easily expand NAS storage to accommodate massive data or backup files. You can also configure and manage the TL-R1620Sep-RP via the Console Port.

Note: To achieve better performance, it is recommended to create storage volumes physically located within the same NAS or expansion enclosure, rather than creating storage volumes across the NAS or expansion enclosure.

Speed up remote file transfers with JBOD migration

Moving many small files or a single large data file over a network can be time-consuming and negatively impact network performance. By setting up the RAID configuration on the TL-R1620Sep-RP, you can use it to move files to another computer or NAS. Simply save the files to the TL-R1620Sep-RP, connect it to the destination device, and then copy the files over.

Note: When using software RAID configuration, the TL-R1620Sep-RP migration only supports hosts that use the same operating system.
