Ithomia agnosia occurs in tropical South America from Colombia to southeastern Brazil, and in Trinidad. It is found in the understorey of moist lowland forests. The wings are translucent, with prominent veins, and orange margins. Eyes are small; the antennae lack distinct clubs. These butterflies are unpalatable to birds, and have a very slow flight. The caterpillar feeds on plants from the family Solanaceae.
